One the best trouble-shooting videos I've ever seen. It made us find a faulty thermo switch. We were so close to buy a electronic interface until we found this. Well done!

hi could the park position be at 12 oclock?
@imtramarineproducts2 ай бұрын
With the W12 motor, having the wiper arm park at the 12 o'clock position is not achievable as the sweep disk cannot be rotated. If you were to set the arm/blade to a 12 o'clock parking position, the sweep would need to be very short, and would only clear half the glass.

When replacing the prop should any lubricants be applied?
@imtramarineproducts2 ай бұрын
Yes, if replacing the prop out of the water, the prop shaft should be re-greased using a marine grease for underwater. On the anode, we say to use blue Loctite on the screw to keep from backing out.

What about when sidepower se80 works with constant clicks in both direction and these clicks are followed by blinking light on the control panel in the same rhythm as the clicks. (Let's say 3 in a second). I have huge nee battery and new solenoid and distributor. Thanks!
@G_Zero127Ай бұрын
Did you ever get a fix for that? I have the same problem solenoid constant rapid clicking when using joystick and even jumping it. New solenoid did not fix, I suspect its the relay(IPC control box)?

Just shared with my dad and we have another question now that you have answered the drag question. We do a lot of fishing in the bay flats where it gets VERY skinny, and sometimes use trim tabs to help hole shot when its very shallow. How would your product hold up if it where to get smacked by a log or oyster etc when the boat is planing?
@imtramarineproducts4 ай бұрын
It's a very uncommon scenario given that the blades are only 1.5" down at full extension, and once on plane they wouldn't need to even be fully extended, so most debris would bounce off the hull and miss it, or just graze it. In the extremely unlikely event it were to take a direct hit from something solid enough to damage the blade, the front plate of the interceptor, which houses the blade, is the designed point of failure and is replaceable, so the whole unit would not need to be replaced.
@garrettwest79125 ай бұрын
Great video. Question, wouldn't this product create an enormous amount of drag when the tab is down? Seems like a normal trim tab shape/design creates MUCH less drag. I feel like this is a stupid question but would love to hear y'alls response. Thanks!
@imtramarineproducts4 ай бұрын
Believe it or not, it actually creates less drag given how small the blade is compared to the large surface area of the tab, and because the lift generated directly on the transom outweighs the drag created by the blades. It's illustrated here by the engineers at Zipwake in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mavbm4uJqZaVe80si=lAy2WZxfaX34puek

How do you replace led if It doesn't work anymore?
@imtramarineproducts9 ай бұрын
The LED is built into the light, so it cannot be replaced individually, the whole fixture would need replacing. However these lights have a 30,000 hour lifespan and a 3-year warranty, so it's highly unlikely that a replacement would ever be required unless it is physically damaged.

Good video but no discussion at all regarding the gear oil or what type to use and how best to change it?
@imtramarineproducts9 ай бұрын
Any 80, 85, or 90 weight gear oil will suffice. Changing the oil is done by removing the 1/4" oil plug located just underneath the cleat on top of the windlass, and snaking a small hand pump in and pumping the existing oil out. If you have the windlass removed from the deck you can also drain it by removing the plug and tipping it, but that is of course more labor-intensive removing the windlass from the deck. The Tigres takes 0.5 Liters (or 17 ounces) of oil.
@svZia-Switch519 ай бұрын
Awesome, thanks for the update. Last question of you don't mind? We have an older Tigres which is circa 2002 so that means it has the smaller motor. 1200w I believe? Is it possible to upgrade to the newer 1500w motor??
@imtramarineproducts9 ай бұрын
@@svZia-Switch51 Yes, replacement motors are available, and given the age of the windlass a newer motor would likely provide better performance. However it is important to note that the 1500W motor is physically the same motor as the older 1200W version, but it has been re-rated in more recent years as a 1500W motor based on updated motor rating standards across the industry. I found this article that helps illustrate how DC motors are rated and why the same motor can be rated at different powers based on how long the motor is expected to run: islproducts.com/design-note/how-to-read-dc-motor-gear-motor-performance-curves/ Hope this helps!

What’s is the problem if your lying chain out , then stop letting chain out to allow boat to stop and set anchor , yet chain still goes out while trying to set anchor ?
@imtramarineproducts10 ай бұрын
That would likely be a result of the clutch being too loose. Just need to put the winch handle in the top and tighten it down.

Should any form of anti-seize or Loctite locker be used on the threads? I see so many conflicting opinions on this. Some say Loctite 243 blue?
@imtramarineproducts Жыл бұрын
It is not required but is often used and blue Loctite is a popular choice. The only thing to keep in mind is that this anode does need to be changed at least annually, so nothing more permanent should be used to bind the threads.
