@@MrKidfire1975 thanks Damian, I figured there should of been, but it seems like it took forever for the FD and the Chief to get there stuff together. I know if I was the first chief or whomever got there first, I would of been asking for at least 4 Chief’s. If you’ve ever studied and you watch FDNY, they’re explicit about having chiefs for chiefs and assistant chiefs for all sides! There’s a reason it. Maybe it’s just me, I’ll go back and rewatch the video again. I believe the fire was moving from right to left, we know fires create it’s own wind, so I question why there wasn’t a chief right there. I guess I’m to analytical when it comes to big fires I’d rather have way more people than I ever need, compared to not having enough resources. I used to laugh at FDNY for bringing everyone in on an all hands, it wasn’t long before I quickly learned why they do it. It’s because bad things happen if your waiting for incoming units. It was a huge building fire, and it was in cok loft and that damn fire would be put out, and minutes later it would burst out somewhere completely different. It was apartment buildings in the shape of an H. Do ya follow Magestratium Vids? If ya haven’t seen any of his videos check him out. He gets Great video on fires there. He keeps us up to date on all the new vehicles NYFD is getting, or has just got. Thanks for the response!….

It's amazing how many Fire Depts drive past the hydrant than stop to tag it. Why hand streach an LDH when you were right to the hydrant when you were coming in. Can you say Heart Attack or stroke. I could tag a hydrant in less than a minute. But I wouldn't hand streach one for a half a block, It would waste all my energy pulling something you shouldn't have to with good proper training. When I seen or noticed something on the fire ground I brought it up during a call or pratice. If it saves time or labor let each other know. Work smart not hard.
@williamgibb55572 жыл бұрын
Where I live, the fire chief or captain are first on scene and tell crews how to set up. Many times , they will drop hose and a man at hydrant and proceed. Water on site while water coming soon. Works here and I learn at lot , good and bad from your and other videos. Stay safe, my friend.

no team work in helping set the supply line up. Don't worry about ventilating roof space if you have no water. Very different to what happens in Australia and other countries.

Reno did fine, like my agency - Sac City, they fight fire with an aggressive interior attack, Regards to truck position - the hose lay prevented their text book spot on the Alfa side and ariel streams are not used for single family dwellings, ps if it was a Victorian, then the ladder can go to the roof, we constitute any dwelling over a set square footage a commercial, so a ladder operation might be used only in a defense Ops, depending on fire conditions and objectives...this isn't Reno's first rodeo..

Suggest that they think about leaving room for ladder company. It appears that 3 engines and hose placement are blocking the ladder.
@MrKidfire19752 жыл бұрын
My truck was 2nd in apparatus, we were blocked by the hose on the ground on arrival, however I placed the truck on the opposite side of the street to allow for the 3rd in engine, who for us, is water supply
@ccc5302 жыл бұрын
@@MrKidfire1975no criticism here, my brother. IMO- engine companies need to think about where they lay their hose; if at all possible keep the hose to the side of the road that the hydrant is on until you get close to the engine. What I really don’t like to see when I arrive, are police cars and even Chief cars and ambulances blocking the precious space.

@@hosedragger-204 I believe this is the incident: An elderly woman critically injured in a house fire in April has died,A man rescued from the fire is still in the ICU The fire happened Monday, April 18, 2022 around 10:45 p.m. at 1570 Clemson Drive. Fire investigators determined the fire likely started at the exterior wall from an engine block heater and spread to the house through juniper brush that was up against the house.

Really? They passed one as they turned onto the street. It would've been a 300' layout. There's a second hydrant 350' past the fire dwelling. Hydrants seem far away when you forget to stop at them.
