Every one of Stockhausen's works is a FEAST for my brain; it enlarges the barriers of music -abundantly. There's likely no piece he's composed that I didn't admire. Another brilliant one: Xenakis. Sometimes they remind me of each other; sometimes they are utterly contrasting in style. I truly miss Stockhausen (I even have a shirt that says so).

These men were actually boys. So young yet so brave. Living conditions at the Air bases were cold and uncomfortable, food was rubbish. They saw their friends blown out the sky but kept on flying night after night. Massive respect.

Where is the real-time version of Deighton's "Bomber" that Radio 4 broadcast at some point in 1999 or thereabouts? One of ythe most terrifying things I think I've ever heard.

Yes same here… I have very fond memories of getting the train back from Liverpool Street to Romford, and literally having to bite my lip to stop laughing as I read it (that was when trains were pretty silent with no WiFi or mobile devices). I remember a reader’s letter that said “Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? My wife is 89, ugly as an old boot, but only yesterday I taught her how to light her own farts”. I was literally crying with laughter. Regards
