I remember my first 24 hr. I was hooked. 6 years ago now. I do it with the same guys every year. The highs and the lows are what keep me coming back. Always GTP, LMP2 before that. 2 years ago at Daytona we were 13 seconds off the lead with 45 minutes to go, my buddy catching fast, a for sure win. He pitted, we didn't take tires so we triple stinted them. On exit he forgot he was on used tires, took the turn out of the pits at full pit speed and spun it. Win gone. So close..... I'm also a real marathon runner. My fastest being 3 hrs and 2 minutes, I was dead 5 miles from the finish but kept pushing. That's why I love these races so much. I always do the overnight tired stints for our team. I apply my marathon mentality to the race. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Laps that feel slow and safe, actually set the pace for the rest of the class.

Awesome video man, really love an insight into sim endurance racing. Definitely looking forward to trying it at some point at risk of ruining a friendship with a team mate. :D

The new lemans chicane layout is new and slower so that’s why iracing gtp’s are so much faster… but yea even without the new layout they are still faster

Hey Arie, Just thought I’d say G’day and that I’m really enjoying your Porsche Cup content 👍👍. Hopefully I can pick up a few tips and tricks to improve my not so good Porsche Cup driving 😊

Raceroom is so so good. The silly penalties for even looking at a curb are the only thing wrong with this game.

I need to learn how to set up my dual clutch like yours, those starts are crispy. Really enjoying this series!
@ARIE.2316 күн бұрын
Thanks mate! I use a 42% bite point for the pork, let the first clutch go at green and drive up to ~ 20kph. Then it's all about the feeling in the other paddle, but usually you can let it go fairly quickly :)

I don’t know what interests the general sim public have but I’m always looking for Porsche cup content. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻 PS. since you got your simagic wheel with the dual clutches your starts have been amazing. How do you have the clutches set up? I’m just about to get a new DD and wheel and have no idea what figures I should use in the Porsche. Whatever you has seems to be a great baseline 👍🏻

Are you running single monitor? And what is the resolution total of your single or triple monitor setup? I am upgrading to the same video card you have and I have a 49 inch ultra wide 1080p monitor now. Would like to know how it performs on a 49 inch monitor at 1440p
@ARIE.2325 күн бұрын
Single monitor at 1440p. I can run very high settings (same as Dan Suzuki, check out his settings vids), I rarely drop below 100 FPS, but that is also because of my CPU I think. Enjoy the upgrade :)

I also just upgraded from CSLs to Simagic P1000s. Still tinkering with the brake to see what I like.

I can Imagine! I've bought the P-ORP (additional springs and elastomers) and eventually landed on a pretty hard elastomer combo using the angle sensor.
@PilbeamYTАй бұрын
Im on a CSLDD right now, and very tempted to upgrade to the Simagic Alpha, are there any reasons, in your opinion, why i shouldnt do it. I have heusinkvelds so im not deep in the ecosystem, and the 8nm simply isnt enough anymore.
@ARIE.23Ай бұрын
Sound like a very decent rig already! I think you would love the upgrade to the Alpha tbh, I know I sure did. In general the base delivers amazing ffb and the wheel feels a lot less tike a toy and more like a real car wheel. I don't think the wheel made me any faster, but I enjoy driving more and that's what it's all about. Maybe, because of the stronger FFB I'm getting more consistent. But that is very hard to prove :)

I used to love it but the player numbers just aren’t there despite numerous attempts to get more players by the Devs, maybe LFM support will help.

I like how in your voice-over you reflect on your incidents and situation and show, that in the race, while you are behind the wheel, you may not have the best judgment of what happens, but you have the class to admit that it wasn't actually that bad if you look at it in the replay. A trait even some of the best esports simracers lack in my experience :D
