I know the guy who operated the long arm machine , he had a sad feeling that it had to come down ,also a sense of pride he got to do it as he is a local lad , However buy the time it had got to demolition stage it was beyond practical and financial repair ,it's shouldn't in my opinion have got to that , we're losing too much heritage, That's why I am trying to photo graph and video as much of our industrial heritage and nostalgic buildings before they're lost forever , Thanks for your interest.

I agree that lots of these old buildings should be protected and not left to rot until it is too late for them to be brought back to life for it is happening quite a bit but I'm glad that you are doing what you are at trying to photograph and film these old buildings for people such as myself appreciate it for it is good that you are capturing these so that their memory lives on and we can look back on them with fond memories.

Another lovely old building lost to history.

I wonder if people who are sent in to demolish old buildings such as this ever think "what am I doing" and whether it sometimes affects them for it is something that some of us couldn't bring ourselves to do for I know I couldn't do this kind of thing in which you have to demolish such lovely old buildings some that hold a lot of social history.

Also, i see fencing around the Black Country Combat building, ready for imminent demolition like you said. Plus, I've just seen on Google maps the old Emerald Telecommunications building, which was next to St Josephs street has also been knocked down. I'm guessing that's why Trindle Road has been narrowed to one lane, although it looks like tarmacing has also taken place here

Btw i noticed in the video that the building (which looked like a house, originally behind the blue bus shelter ) has also been knocked down. Do you happen to know what that building was? It was other side to farmfoods, near some brick steps. Maybe it too belonged to the Bus Station. But i always thought it was a house

Sad to say goodbye to a lot of our childhoods. But it’s time. My Grandparents used to take me to Dudley Town Centre all the time when I was a child. I practically grew up there. So there are a lot of fond memories here. They are gone now and so are alot of there brothers and sisters from the WW2 generation. All that remains are the memories and a decaying town. It’s time to move on.

Our dudley is a sorry sight these days, from what we had to what we had to now, sad, in the 60s 70s we had the big freight line, they pulled the cinema down, which should not have been demolished because it was art deco, the new buildings are ugly 😢

Ridden the number 74 bus past that all through my childhood on the way to and back from St Edmunds CoE school top of Kates hill, i lived in the iron house at the bottom of bunns lane, doubt there's much left of the fifties and sixties Dudley i knew, the memories remain though, a great start to life in a nice neat well ordered town, full of every trade and profession known, i seem to remember the town boasted three cinemas once, the Plaza, the Odeon and the Criterion.

Sad loss of a familiar landmark, took the number 74 bus past that a few hundred times on my way to St Edmunds CoE primary school in the fifties, i lived in one of the iron houses at the bottom of bunns lane, now in the BCM, very happy days, Dudley was a nice clean neat little town then, before the municipal horror called Sandwell, haven't walked those streets in fifty years, maybe i should go and kick over the traces, but i feel certain I'd be crying at its current state.
