I like to hear them talking about these macro ideas- a lot of interviews with experimental groups go straight into the super niche inner world of experimental music without asking questions about how the band/artist actually envisions what they do, what “noise” music or whatever it is means to them, etc. Can only really get that when u have a language/culture barrier to cross.

I've seen the Boredoms in full on, Pop Tatari noise mode and I've seen them right before they started doing these percussion performances. Both times, Eye was like some crazy shaman who brought me to someplace spiritual. Thank you Boredoms.

ultimately a legion of 77 art hos on drums doesn't really sound much different than one drummer, when they're all doing the same beat. maybe a little muddier. definitely a more interesting concept than result.

Everyone's pointing out Brian Chippendale (4:40) but also there's original Lightning Bolt member Hisham Bharoocha - then drummer for Black Dice (4:01). Also Miggy Littleton from great indie band Ida, later Blood On the Wall and White Magic (2:05). Many more I'm sure.

This is a visual concept more than a musical concept. As for instance,If I was not watching, I would believe there is only one drummer playing instead of a crowd of drummers. Be honest and please tell me if you guys notice the difference.

You can tell that there is a lot more than a single drum being played, because not every drum is being played at exactly the same time, also not at the same intensity. Is like a chorus effect, imagine an orchestra, you can tell when a single violin is doing a solo and when all the violins are playing.
