I have no first hand experience, yet, but what I saw in other videos is to go for a thicker string gauge, e.g. .25 to .100, and if this wont already helps, flipping the bridge would donthe thrick in most cases. Flipping the bridge 180 degrees gives these bits more action.

The Princeton Reverb is such a great sounding amp which is why i prefer the Jensen. The Celestian sounds too modern for my taste and modern tone is what I try to avoid. Nice demo.

This would have been great, if the mics were in phase (sorry, but there's so much cancellation that it sound like a DI). I used to have a Gold, it sounded nothing like this, it was quite dark and low-mid forward, which complimented single coils, but it would get muffled and boxy at low volumes, it needed at least 15W of power to make it sound good, even my 15W SuperChamp X2 sounded boxy, the best results I got were using a Twin head (at very low volume and for short time periods, to avoid blowing it up). I've also tested it in a closed, yet ported cab, with pretty much the same results, it might help if you use it in a slightly wider open-back cab to compensate for the excessive low mids. Good speaker, but certainly overpriced and picky, I have sold it and bought that Fender Jensen and I have to say, it's way more flexible and consistent with the results, it plays nice with most heads, most cabs and most volume levels. At least that's my opinion from my experience.

Gold has much more character. You get what you pay for; I doubt anyone could notice in a gigging environment, but definitely in a studio setup.

i got a metabones speedbooster using my canon lenses on my fx3 but getting the barrelling you are here in 4k any way to stop that? have i got the wrong adapter? the auto focus doesn't bother me much but the barrelling does
@ChadWork13 ай бұрын
OK, a speed booster is to use on a smaller sensor camera. I have a speec booster too and it's for use with an APSC sensor camera. You add the speed booster and it allows you to put a full frame lens on, and it also sort of corrects the crop factor so say, 24 mm on the lkens will actually be close to that. For much cheaper just get an adapter. I got the 7artisans EF-SE Lens Adapter off Amazon for 99 bucks, and it actually is one of the better ones for auto focus. Not as good as native lenses of course, but it does work. Good luck!

@@yohann44 It says ".128T" on the package, but I'm not sure what the T stands for. I'm not sure what you mean by "it sounds more loud than a classic bass". It is as loud as the setting on the amp. The strings I put on are thicker than the ones that come on the bass, and sound much better. With the setting son the bass you can get it sounding round and thick like a real bass, or thinner like something from a Spaghetti Western soundtrack. The flat wound strings also sound great and are easier on the fingers. Trust me, they will bring new life to your Bass VI.

The AT sounds more suited for music. The NT3 is a bit crisper, less bass, and would probably be a good web conferencing, podcasting, and streaming mic. I like that you demonstrated these hanging from above. That is the setup I am aiming for, so I appreciate this.
@ChadWork13 ай бұрын
I actually don't like either for music. The AT is great for indoor dialog. It doesn't really sound as dark as it did in this old test from 13 years ago. It was going straight into a Sony EX1, rather than something with nice preamps like a Sound Device MixPre or similar. I don't really use the NT3 for anything. The highs are a tad too crispy, and wear on you after a while. The AT4053b takes EQ much better and is more forgiving. It's the best mid priced hyper for dialog available IMO. For recording an acoustic guitar I would use a pencil mic with a cardioid pattern. Like a Soyuz 013 Fet, or the more budget friendly Rode NT5 / NT55.

@gaborporempovics24154 ай бұрын
Does it sound cleaner now? Definitely! Does it sound better? That's quite subjective. Based on your video, this instrument lost much of its 60s vibe I am after. That is a different sound. The natural chorus effect of the 12 string instrument is much more subtle in your case. All in all, thanks for the video! It is really useful. Even if it shows that this mod is not for me! 😊
@ChadWork14 ай бұрын
I don't think the 60s sound is from a lack on intonation. I think the pickups have a lot to do with it. Single coil might get you there more. Also I was using some amp model rather than what I would use today, a Fender Princeton.
