Bravo! I just received this exact kit for my 2024 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. Excellent fit, and this video explains the installation very clearly. No need to modify the nylon nuts, I barely had to tweak one side open with a large screwdriver, and it fit perfectly snug. Take your time, protect the new headlamp with the plastic it came with, and you'll love the results. Thank you for designing a great product. Well worth the cost.

We have worked with QC to make sure those tabs are not "overbent" when in the brake machine. The method you mention is exactly how we suggest making any corrections, should the nut not fit into the nutwell straight away. So glad to hear you are happy with this product. Thank you for trusting us and spending your hard-earned with us!

I like the way you set up the no Amp kit for an upgrade question I have is, can the wiring kit set up for the amp be used without an amp and hide the trigger wire and attach the speaker wires from the wiring kit directly to the head unit.
@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters 22 күн бұрын
That would not be an option because there no speaker leads feeding from the plug for the head unit. Our very unscientific polls show that most customers will install an amp at the same time as the head unit while some will install the head unit with no amp. There was a small group that would add an amp sometime after installing their head unit so we felt it was important to accommodate that with the conversion rather than requiring them to purchase the other harness.

Is the small connector for the handlebar controls? What are we. Losing with that exemption?
@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters 24 күн бұрын
The small plug has the CB and Intercom controls so those are lost with an aftermarket radio installation. If you have the XM radio module installed, you will lose that as well but most aftermarket radios have XM/Sirius. AVC (Automatic Volume Control) is also lost.
@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters 24 күн бұрын
I wanted to address the handlebar control question separately. This harness includes an SWI-CP2 steering wheel control module. Normally, this must me mapped (or programmed) by the end-user. We pre-map this module for the radio brand that you will be installing. Pre-mapping these modules is an option exclusive to Engineered Adapters.

This is going to be a great addition to my 2018 vaquero and looks very simple for a guy who should not play with electrical wiring. One question about the amplifier trigger wire, is that all the power the Amp needs or does it still need need to be powered and grounded. Thanx for the kit and video
@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters Ай бұрын
The signal power for the amp is maybe a half-watt which means a small gage wire can be used such as this trigger wire. Most amplifiers that will be used in these bikes range from 200-1000 watts which require much larger wire gage. That can range from 10ga-4ga depending on the amplifier. The trigger wire should never be used to power an amp, it is far too small and the worst-case scenario in doing so could start an electrical fire!

Off-topic but had you ever considered making some kind of spacer to modify the OEM speaker cones so that they'll work with the 6.5 fairing adapters? My system sounds great, but then I lose most of my bass sound when I start up my bike. My hunch is that the cones provide necessary insulation to contain and project that bass so I am modifying my current cones to fit the 6.5 adapters. Just ordered the rear speaker pods and this light install kit is next on the list.

How many watts is this amplifier? Will it be able to support kicker speakers 45KM654 6.5" 390w?
@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters 2 ай бұрын
When trying to match an amp to the speakers, always use RMS power. In this case, the RMS power of those speakers is 65W. The RF 300pbr is 75W per channel. This is a pretty good match, though, normally I would prefer the speaker RMS power be the same or slightly higher than the amp. That being said, that Kicker is a very popular model used on our 6-1/2" fairing adapters with similar size amplifiers.

Just got my light kit today - Thanks for posting in the Suzuki forum on FB first of all, thank you for the clear instructions. I have the bracket mounted to the light, and will toss it on the C50 tomorrow (too many beers right now to test ride anyway *grin*)
@Steve-Kratz
@Steve-Kratz 2 ай бұрын
Note on Suzuki mounting - the 6 o'clock screw you need to get at with a teeny-tiny screwdriver. There's a hole in the shroud that's about 1/8" wide, and you need needle-nose pliers to help insert the screw (hit the hole at a bit of an angle and then set it straight as it's REALLY close to the edge of the shroud.) From the original adjustment point, I would've been blinding airplanes with the high beams. It had to come down about 2 feet at feet.

Thank you for the feedback! We are glad it is working well for you, and you are happy with it. The tabs in the nutwell sometimes get bent in just a bit too far. Great question. We plan to do a new video that will show that part of the process. You can remove the speakers and/or the gloveboxes to access the 3 screws holding the lights to the bracket. Unplug the socket and they can be pulled out the front of the fairing.

@EngineeredAdapters
@EngineeredAdapters 7 ай бұрын
That wouldn't be our headlight, we don't sell LED lights with the turn signals. However, you will discover that LED signal lights have very little electrical resistance which can cause hyperflash or other issues. The system reads the lack of resistance as a "blown bulb". Often a resistor module is required to make the signals work normally.

We occasionally get requests for the Meanie. After starting into the R&D, we reached out to the Meanstreak community to gage the amount of interest. To our surprise, there was almost none. Without a customer base, it doesn't make sense to invest the time and capital into the R&D, so we abandoned that project. Should the community show us there is enough interest, we would reconsider.

Turn yr dam radio off when talking about how to do something
@sirdroll
@sirdroll 9 ай бұрын
I had to tweak a couple minor items during the install, but it's on the bike with an LED lamp. A couple of my issues on a 2023 Kawi 900: the lamp wouldn't allow for a proper seating of the chrome ring and the bracket. The lamp I purchased had an edge that was approximately 1/4 thicker than others that I've seen installed on KZbin. But I had three 3/4" stainless, hex head screws; so that worked out. One of the two openings for the two nylon nuts was too narrow, but a quick brush against my belt sander did the trick. All in all, the bracket, while pricey, was the only solution I could find to add the illumination and aesthetic I was after.
@EngineeredAdapters

Thank you for the feedback. We are making some minor tweaks to the nut well so it won't be too tight. Aside from sanding the nut, another solution would be to gently pry open the folded tabs - they are sometimes over-folded. Can you advise which headlight you used?

I can't tell you the brand of the headlight I bought. There was no logo or other ID'ing info on this relatively inexpensive, but effective l.e.d. bulb(s) or the pkg material. The fit was a bit tortured, but in the final analysis, worth doing. I had to use different (stainless) screws, but I had those on hand. The sizing of the nylon nut was a minor annoyance. This is a good upgrade for the not-so-well lighted roads of my beloved Florida.

The LED fog lights are a flood, made to fill in the area just ahead and to the sides of the motorcycle where the headlight doesn't reach well. As such, they usually do not require adjustment. However, there is a wingnut on the bracket holding the auxiliary light bucket that can be used to adjust the aim if required.
