For sure! What kind of projects are you hoping to do? There are lots of options for software and they all have their pros and cons. Personally I use carveco maker for signs and artsy stuff, vcarving, etc. It’s fast and easy and have built in fonts and tools for that kind of stuff. For precision machining in aluminum and delrin I start my designs in solidworks and then export to fusion 360 for CAM. You could skip solidworks entirely, it’s just what I like and am used to but they do the same thing. There are other options as well: vectric, carbide create, easel, and many more.

@G28CNCАй бұрын
@@newagainresurfacingn.q.ngu4218 my only real complaint is the design of the x axis- I wish that the spindle had a little bit more travel and that the extrusion were stationary and a plate moved. It’s not a huge deal but if you notice, I am limited on how deep I can plunge by the combination of the two. Imagine I had something 5” in height that I wanted to mill into a few inches. There’s not a great way to go that because the extrusion will bottom out. Again, it’s not a big deal because of what most people I tend to use the machine for and the price is great. I tend to use my small machine more (it’s a queen bee) but that’s because it’s set up for aluminum and that’s what I work with more often.
