Letras El sacrificio de huesos extraños The cull of foreign bone Médula succionada debajo del árbol de flores. Marrow sucked beneath the flower tree Deja que los justos se levanten de nuevo Leave the righteous ones to rise again Y beber la luz de los enemigos And drink the light from enemies Dulce rosa del bosque Sweet rose of the forest Ruptura y estallido entre mis dientes Rupture and burst between my teeth Ruptura aquí dentro de mi boca Rupture here inside my mouth Cambia el agua, cambia, cambia. Change water, change, change Cambiar, cambiar, cambiar Change, change, change en mercurio Into mercury No soy yo It is not me No soy yo It is not me No soy yo, no soy yo It is not me, it is not me Lleva la suciedad a mis pulmones Draw the dirt up into my lungs Coloca las líneas torcidas de azufre Lay down the crooked sulfur lines Déjame aquí para empapar la niebla que se cuela entre las hojas. Leave me here to soak the mist that sifts between the leaves Cintas rojas fluyen bajo mis pies y alimentan la corriente del espejo. Red ribbons flow beneath my feet and feed the mirror stream Forzar el humo azul en Force the blue smoke in Forzarlo, forzarlo Force it in, force it in Forzarlo, forzarlo Force it in, force it in Llenar el saco de piel Fill the sack of skin Rellénalo, complétalo Fill it in, fill it in Rellenarlo Fill it in Con que, con que With what, with what Con arbol, con arbol With tree, with tree No soy yo It is not me No soy yo It is not me No soy yo It is not me No soy yo It is not me No soy yo It is not me

I have a quite nice collection of Michael Gira's work from the first Swans ep's to recent signed cd's, vinyl, cassettes, all Angels of Light releases, solo output, books, t-shirts, etc. But I never scored the cd this version of "All Souls Rising" appears on. A perfect collection it's not, but subject I chose for my only collection and the hunt to find the items to fill it gave me something to be excited about and kept me from television, shopping malls, mind numbingly pop radio, and multiplex sport centers. I thank you M Gira.

I've known for quite awhile that Michael Gira was God or possibly alien from our world. This proves he is beyond explanation and the Heavens above, or the Hell here. One of his best - if not, the best - works he has ever created. I am in awe.

Funny, I saw Swans live earlier this year and the had Jamie Steward of Xiu Xiu opening. Het was doing a set of gospel songs and was all dressed up in a suit, looking very much like a younger version of Michael here.

This was my experience when I saw them live. I told him after the show, "I felt like I was hearing the sounds of life and death simultaneously."

Reminds me of Jandek. Completely untraditional song structures with garbled, almost folky vocals. Definitely more angry though. Anyone else?

@ andinoble: you nailed it, his music just becomes more complete, intense, more "GIRA" - more of that indefinable something that hooked me on Swans way back when. His fans are lucky that he can actually stay interesting/interested enough in the process to work at his craft and get better w/ age.
