the ice cream truck where i live (hueneme beach, ventura county)plays this melody(no words), and has for a long time. i sing the lyrics when it goes by, people think thats strange.

THANKS my friend....!!! If you have some specific questions about this spot that I arranged, performed & produced for BBD&O....., I'll answer them as best I can. I did not produce the visual...., they just wanted me to orchestrate, score and sing the jingle so it worked perfectly with the video. Phil Dusenberry was the agency head who was the father of this Pepsi project and most of the others. He was a very smart & fine man who loved my work but sadly left us a number of years ago.

One of my favorite Christmases as a kid was the year I received the space station and space crawler. Still have a picture from that year, holding up a sergeant storm. Next to G.I. Joe, this was probably my favorite toy.

I got Matt & his space station for my eleventh birthday. Enjoyed it for about a year till a less privileged classmate asked if he could borrow it for a week. What I got back was in peices and he said his "cat" got it. But I suspect it was his jealous older brothers. One of 3 examples I'd learned not to loan things of value to a particular type of people. Never got them back in the same condition.

Lately I've been watching several of those 'old timey commercials'. When I compare them to modern adds, snicker, it's just plain boring. I realize that many modern advertisers believe the old adds are 'corny'. And that's why commercials will continue to be boring. JMHO... but I'm a consumer, and guess who doesn't listen to the adds, but reads the labels instead.

This was done at Clokey Films. Everything's in here. The rubber-band style mouths, the Capitol stock music cue and the blocky "REFRESHMENT TIME" lettering is oblivious to the audience that this was done by Art Clokey.
