I loved that cardigan with the woven fabric to make the really gorgeous collar, probably my fav garment, not too keen on the 'grape' one...personal style I guess. The techniques were really interesting and I have an idea for a garment I'd like to make

Doug you have turned the tables on our oriental friends by studying and mastering their techniques - something they have been doing to us for years. You are truly an artist. Brian…….

Loved this two part series...thank you Yuko . this was done several years ago but is prerfect for me right now - i have been weaving saori for a couple of years now with very basic techniques but was really inspired by several new to me ways to weave - and design - in these videos. Yuko you are a good filmographer.. and the Saori top you have on at the end of this video - i had noticed it on the wall earlier and the placement of the yellow/gold area in the middle if so well done! - it looks so good on you. You have brightened my day in this time of the Ukraine crisis.. it was nice to get away for a little while...

We do have a similar Tokugawa palanquin diplayed in the collection of the De Haar Castle in the Netherlands. Might be bought at the same auction in 1901 by baron Etiënne van Zuylen.

This was such a great day! Japanese Society NW were very lucky to host them 🌟
It is so difficult & confusing that I could Never do a complex braid..

The Nishikigoi show in England has a system to ensure fair judging, such as keeping the information of the breeders private. This is very Western. Japanese people have a national tendency to worry about the information of breeders and owners.

I was surprised to learn that a Nishikigoi competition was held in Himeji, Japan. As a Nishikigoi lover, I am very happy. Please come again. I would like to exhibit my own Koi next time.
