Just one picky comment... I learned years ago from a veteran bartender that the first rule of drinks preparation is 'Always wash your ice cubes!' Apparently (and detectably), the thin layer of frost on the surface of the ice cube contains concentrated flavours and odours that have sublimated from other items in the freezer, as well as trapping the detectable 'freezer smell' that some freezer units have. Rinsing off the surface of the ice cubes removes these odours, as well as making it less likely that seltzer and carbonated drinks will fizz up and overflow. He spoke of an incident where someone's prized single malt scotch (served over ice) was spoiled because it tasted like the butterscotch ripple ice cream that shared the freezer with the ice cubes! 😂

Thanks, Dave! I didn't know that. Coincidentally, I did wash this one (which is why the ice cube was in a separate small dish, rather than in the ice cube tray), but I will be even more conscious about this now :-)
