It’s so incredibly obvious that he’s a genius, so well spoken and everything he says is absolutely correct, yet most people don’t even realize or think about the specifics.

Nick did songwriting sessions in the Jewel&Esk college, Edinburgh when I was there in my 1st year. I went to see him, having bought the LP, in The Venue, not with Slice members but session guys including the late, great Kevin 'tight and tasty' Wilkinson and the bass player from Fairground Attraction. . . might have been Robbie Blunt on guitar but I can't be sure to my shame (I'm a rhythm section guy :-) A heartfelt beautiful album.

@@royburrakaxmeoff I sold almost all my hardware about a year ago as I quite like being restricted to a DAW and controller keyboard. But I kept the Novation Circuit Rhythm as it’s so intuitive and fun to put simple beats together you can then really build up properly using a daw. It feels like the right decision still a year down the line!

Nice! What process do you do to synch J6 with Circuit? I going crazy and there's no tutorial on how to do it, they just won't talk to each other via midi...
@JakeBickerton5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I no longer have all the Roland devices but I kept the T-8, and the Circuit Rhythm (which is great). From what I can remember, I linked all the Roland devices together through the mix out to mix in and through the sync out to sync in, with the final device being the E-4. Then I took the mix out from that to the stereo audio ins of the Circuit Rhythm and found a jack plug to midi cable (I remember this being a bit tricky to find one that worked) and went from the sync out of the E-4 to the MIDI in of the Circuit Rhythm. And I’m pretty sure this worked in syncing everything together. Hope this helps.

What a wonderful little video. I love Stephen Duffy and The Lilac time. It's comforting to hear from Stephen that he has experienced set back and depression etc. Life as an artist isn't all glitz and glamor, and his honesty about this just makes him better in my view.

Stephen Duffy has such an extraordinary and poignant voice. He veers into genres which are sometimes not my cup of tea but I’m always transfixed by his vocals. His depth and tenderness always come through. Have been a fan since Kiss Me and I love the Lilac Time.
