I very much want to spread the awareness of mosquitoes borne diseases and its impact on the hummingbirds population. As with avian flu affecting wild birds, unfortunately it also affects hummingbirds as well. I know that humans get bitten by mosquitoes. But what the media or other news outlets ignores are the night time mosquitoes infestation of hummingbirds that often bear the brunt of mosquitoes bites on them. I like you to spread awareness on the impact that mosquitoes have on birds which includes hummingbirds. Most people don’t understand how mosquitoes often annoy sleeping hummingbirds especially at times when mother hummingbirds are protecting their developing babies at night.

I saw these little hummingbirds at San Tadeo outside of Mindo! They are so cute!

That's fantastic, were they smaller than you expected them to be? They were for me. And way more comfortable to be at close range to people than I expected. San Tadeo is a great place, the owner is a nice man. This video was filmed just down the road at Satchatamia Lodge. When were you last in Ecuador? Plans to return?
