Richard Briers(the good life) said terry thomas is his cousin. They were close cousins. He said the family didnt talk like that but terry did. He even spoke like that on and off camera.

He had no successor in films that I can think of, indicative of his uniqueness as a cinematic character type. Once gone, the actor's "Terry Thomas" persona that he epitomized so well, disappeared entirely from the world's movie screens.

My Dad was a black cab driver in the '60's. Terry Thomas had a terrible reputation for hailing a black cab to take him home, pretending on arrival that his wallet was inside his house. He'd then disappear into the house, never to come out again. Word went round, and few cabbies would stop for him.

“Is it weakness of intellect, birdie?” I cried “Or a rather tough worm in your little inside” With a shake of his poor little head, he replied “Oh, willow, tit willow, tit willow!” He slapped at his chest, as he sat on that bough Singing “Willow, tit willow, tit willow” And a cold perspiration bespangled his brow Oh, willow, tit willow, tit willow He sobbed and he sighed and a gurgle he gave* Then he plunged himself into the billowy wave And an echo arose from the suicide’s grave “Oh, willow, tit willow, tit willow” Now I feel just as sure as I’m sure that my name Isn’t Willow, tit willow, tit willow That ‘twas blighted affection that made him exclaim “Oh, willow, tit willow, tit willow” And if you remain callous and obdurate, I Shall perish as he did, and you will know why Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die “Oh, willow, tit willow, tit willow”

He did say something just before he died. Is Trump's rotten steaks all you got? aka The Trill of it all. Operation Snatch is a 1962 British comedy film starring Terry-Thomas and George Sanders and directed by Robert Day.😊 What? Tit willow tit willow tit willow

My Grandad stole this joke! His version seemed a lot longer (maybe it just seemed like that, as I was a little kid). And I thought he made it up himself. I feel my childhood is a lie! He definitely changed the punchline to "Didn't they sell any BLANKS (to prevent full spoiler) in that shop?!" I also found out decades later that a song he claimed he wrote, was off the telly. I bet he stole everything! 😂
