Thank you for sharing Robertson. I've always wondered how much these IB were buying casks for back in the day? Would you know. I'd love to know the rough price every decade from the 60s onwards. I doubt you'll have the full info but I'd imagine it was quite a bit cheaper than it is today !
@RobertsonWellen2 ай бұрын
that's a great question. I think only someone who worked at an Indi bottler back then would know. I was part of a group of 13 people who bought a puncheon cask of Macallan back in 2002. it was 12 year old when we bought it and it cost £6000. so even in the last 20 year it has changed dramatically.
@WhiskynewspaperАй бұрын
@@RobertsonWellen good lord that was cheap. To think soon, 1 bottle alone will be the cask price.

Great review. Here's my notes: Nose: Figs, vanilla, red berries, Mr Sheen furniture polish, icing sugar, meringue, fruit salad juices. With water becomes more herbal, fruity and grassy. 🍓 Palate: Spiced red berries particularly cherries. With water loses the big bold berry flavours and instead vanilla and icing sugar takes over. 🍒 Finish: Long, spicy marmalade, orange peel. With water the finish shortens. 🍊 Conclusion: Love it but don't add water until your very last drop ❤️

Do you know why so few bottles were yielded? 115 is nothing. Was it a quarter cask or octave?
@RobertsonWellen3 ай бұрын
aye- it's 115 bottles because it's for the 115th anniversary of TB Watson- it was not the whole cask. There should be another 120 bottles in the cask to be bottled later.
