Where will the CAA stop with its regulations? Take the Mini2 for example, it's such a small drone and when I was flying it to make this video it was hard to see beyond 100 metres let alone see which direction the drone was facing. I think this new rule has made it more hazardous to fly than safer to fly. When I took off from the beach and went straight up, not going forward or backward, the drone looked as if it was also going forward and toward me. This I put down to the sky and it being hard to perceive the depth of field or distance. I could clearly see on my screen though, the drone had only gone vertically upwards. @@marktayla Appreciate that so much. Re the CAA video, I just fly as safely as I always have just using my FPV view mostly as I agree with you it's difficult to fly VLOS all the time as judging the depth of field makes it less safe to see how far you are from an obstacle at any distance. Plus you really need to keep an eye on the telemetry data and other on screen warnings etc flying purely VLOS means your attention is away from the important stuff going on in the app. I think overall the CAA have made following the rules very complicated and difficult. In my opinion they should keep it simple and pilots are more likely to comply but above all not to over regulate what is essentially the safest form of aviation already.👍

Thanks for the comment Joseph. Don't think I've ever been to Llyn Brianne reservoir. Will have to check it out one day. I've learned a lot with the drone and the editing side of things since this video and hope to do some more soon. Would imagine after the rain we've had, the reservoirs are starting to fill back up now.
