imagine you can talk to all those famous artists while sitting in a french cafe drinking red wine and talk about art - whatever is greater than this ?

The actor playing Fitzgerald looks a lot like the real Fitzgerald! www.twincities.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/wpid-20150428__150503bks_fitzgerald1.jpg?w=650

How does nobody react to his haircut? Obviously he looks like a bum or complete imbecile in the 1920s with that hairstyle. Same thing happened in The Shining when Jack Nicholson walks through a 1920s party and no one reacts to the long hair and beard

This scene depicts Hemingway speaking identical to how he writes. That what makes him my favorite author. There's so much engagement happening, but it has so little fanfare. Like a weird dichotomy of prose that somehow manages to work so well.

That's what the movies are for aren't they, finding our heroes and finding out they'd like us if we met? I liked The Moderns. I thought the acting was superb and the characters a little more miserable and real.

I'm not into stuff coming out of Hollywood or wherever these days. I hardly watch any of them. This is one of my favorite movies. Sooo interesting and entertaining. Great acting. Great writing and originality. You would think the movie writers today might take a hint from this movie. Seems every movie now has to have superheroes, overdone computer effects and the world is going to end from some threat. So dull in my. opinion.

My friend and I (both English majors) saw this opening weekend and all we knew is it was about a writer obsessed with the Lost Generation, so the look on Gil's face during this scene was pretty much ours!
