I have the most overlaps with the SJW tribe and what you said about Americanization is just so true. Many of the issues they address are legitimate but I really wish they were more willing to take a step back and ask questions like "is this even a problem on our side of the pond" or "does that even make sense in our political, social and linguistic environment" rather than unreflectedly parroting anything they read on English-speaking social media.

#tribe 36 Dual citizenship holders my grandparents (oma and opa) are examples. They never will move back as they have become nearly fully americanized but they often will look upon german politics with disgrace telling me how good the american dream is yet they both have not been to germany since 1982. My oma was from Bavaria and she was very anti catholic after coming to the US and my opa was originally from East Prussia but moved to Bremen after ww2 and he's very anti communist and SPD. I've met some of their brothers and sister that have also moved to the US and they feel the same. I feel like no matter what happens in Germany they will support the opposite. Which is odd cause both of them have retained their German citizenship. Which I find hilarious cause i've visited Berlin, Dresden, Munich and rural bavaria for a few weeks and I found many things I think the US should adopt culturally and politically.

It's an illegal war but you don't have to be a "Russia Understander" to know about all the provocations that have lead to this war. It's incredibly ignorant to call it "unprovoked". Illegal but not unprovoked.

I would fit into "justice warrior" category, but its due to my ethnical background. I believe that politics must create basis for collectivistic society where maximal number of people doing well. But after living here for 5 years, its seems to be "appear, but not do" for me
@Memanruler14 сағат бұрын
Now this is pretty anecdotal since politics is such a fickle thing, culturally no less, but the Reichsbürger type bares a striking resemblance to the "American State National" or "Sovereign Citizen" US conspiracy theory. Basically the same sort of, "The American Government isn't real and if you agree to anything you are being forced into a contract and no one can do anything to you if you don't say yes do it."

I find it quite interesting that Bavarians or Germans often think of Dirndl, Lederhosen or Oktoberfest as something completely unique to Bavaria, but actually the other southern state Baden-Württemberg has similar folk customs. People here also have the dirndls or in the black forest you can see things like the Bollenhut. Theres also the Cannstatter Wasn and the Canstatter Volksfest, which is also quite similar to the Oktoberfest.

What about Germany's relation with Poland? Is it similar to it's relation with Israel?
@LucasBenderChannel21 сағат бұрын
Great question! It would only make sense that our relationship was similar to that with Israel, right? No country suffered more and saw more atrocities from German occupation than Poland! And yet... no. 😦 Of course German politicians do regularly visit Poland to visit anti-war monuments and the like, but that's about it! I'm afraid that somehow, many Germans feel quite entitled to boss Poland around. Somehow, the connection with WW2 is rarely present. It does come up every once in a while, but they're mostly just seen as one of our neighbors.

I have to disagree about the influence of the "ancient elite" no longer being influential. I have met quite a lot of people who belong to this group- von, zu, Freiherr, Ritter usw, and while yes they are no longer officially royals they are still by and large very wealthy and influential. If your family has been wealthy and influential for centuries...you get pretty good at making money and having influence. They just are content to be insanely wealthy and unseen to do whatever they want behind the scenes, it is seen as being extremely gauche in their circles to show off. #Tribe 36- The "Student Leftist", an -ology student named Jan or Caro who smokes Pueblo rolled-cigarettes out of that Inca/South American patterned bag and drinks Club Mate, and is very vocal and somewhat active in student politics and affairs. They will live a bohemian lifestyle throughout their studies, but also fiercely hide the fact their parents are lawyers or whatever that finances their lifestyle.
@LucasBenderChannelКүн бұрын
Good addition! 😅👍 And yes I should've made it clear that while their titles don't strictly matter anymore, their inheritance still generally allows a lot of the former aristocracy to have a heightened lifestyle. I hope that at least the last sentence of the segment made that obvious.

#tribe36 artists and cultural workers, as they and their concepts can also transcend into politics. You said it already when you mentioned the satire shows and the political comedy, but one also could argue for songs and lyrics hitting the nerve of the time*. I also think that for instance deutsch-rap or other dystopian realities affect world views of young minds. Or that artists and their 'work' send messages abroad. I agree on that this part of a society isn't often regarded but Zeitgeist always comes with a culture for it's tribe ... ;), oh, btw. isn't that your tribe, too ? ;) * e.g.: Scorpions, Wind of Change excellent work btw. ;)

Your bias against die linke is pretty unsavoury and undermines the good elements of this video tbh. Most socialists aren’t demanding a command and control economy - we believe in plurality and democracy. We just have a very different understanding of how democracy functions under a capitalist system.
@livvi67Күн бұрын
Also - as evidenced by the recent split - most die linke voters aren’t pro Russia. And btw Putin, is a national conservative and so would ideologically have much more in common with the CDU or even AFD
@thestormcrafterКүн бұрын
38:01 Our „Sozialkunde“ (society/politics) teacher this year once said to us when discussing some aspects of the AfD, that though he must not force any opinion, in this case, he needed to hold against this as it is his duty, which meant he could do a lot of stuff wrong. Just bringing it up because remaining neutral in this case needs to involve condemning what happened in at least some capacity.

i’m romanian - the eastalgic character definitely exists here too! often with the exact same arguments that your friend ana described. your video and JJ’s kind of inspire me to do something similar for romania, but i sadly would probably lack the production quality to be able to see it through
@LucasBenderChannelКүн бұрын
I honestly think production quality should not worry you at all! 🤗 J.J.'s version barely included any animation and I struggled with sound and video quality. We all lack something. So don't worry about any of that! I'd love to see more videos like this and I'd recommend you give it a shot! Just maybe don't go for 35 tribes right away! 😅 haha This was a LOT of work. Instead of 35, maybe try making one about 10 or 12 special characters, that are super unique to Romania! That'd be enough to start with and a really interesting watch! :) If you do decide to work on something like this, you can always hit me up on Instagram for advice! 💛🇷🇴

21:38 Stop calling me out! Yes, I admit, I might be very much *into* the EU. But I really think strong cooperation should be the target of the European nations, as I don’t believe we’ll be able to become at least mostly independent from countries like China otherwise. I don’t think the EU is perfect, that „beacon of democracy“ sadly isn’t there all around the continent, but I really think this is what the EU should become even though I do not see a clear path towards that. In any case, it cannot involve violence. The EU needs to have principals separating it from Russia, China, North Korea and also the USA to solve capacity. In my dreams, the EU would be a democratic, peaceful, righteous beacon, but well, let’s see what the future brings.

i agree with the "Havent we heard enough" sentiment, it becomes overly annoying to hold on the past rather than moving on. people dont learn from their past mistakes and these things just reinforce certain sides to stir more anger.
