Zip pocket lining says to cut 7”x 14” ??? It doesn’t line up. Looks like it is 8 1/2 “ x 14” Is that right?
@indolovekreation80778 күн бұрын
8.5 will be too big because i don't want it included in the SA when attaching the exterior with the lining because it will get bulky.
@ColleenMacdonald-h8g8 күн бұрын
Ok, I thought that was the case. So in your video it looks like it lines up , but you sew it at 3/4 “ , then trim off excess. Are you using a 7”x 14” pocket lining piece in your video?
@indolovekreation80778 күн бұрын
it could be the angle of the camera, but they are not supposed to be lined up to avoid bulk. i will make another one tonight and let you know.
@jen_handmade_ks8 күн бұрын
@@ColleenMacdonald-h8g I used the 7”x14” pocket lining and sewed the sides with a ¼” seam allowance. It gives the same result but you don’t have to trim the sides like she does in the video. I’m guessing her piece was cut at 8”x14” then she trimmed it down after sewing a larger seam allowance. Using 7”x14” just eliminates that step. Hope that makes sense!

Right about 53:00 the video appears to be messed up? It’s like two different instructions in one? Maybe it’s just on my side but I thought I’d let you know what I’m seeing …. It looks like the zipper instructions with the back flap are merged into one clip

I've only quilted a few panels for bags so far but I learn something each time. I was really pleased to find this lovely chevron pattern. Thank you so much for showing the complete process. I now use a white gel pen as it dries faster, makes a finer line and wipes off easily with a baby wipe or damp cloth but doesn't smear so easily if touch with the ruler or hand (I notice you tend to lift your ruler at an angle to avoid resting the back of it on a freshly drawn line). I still find the gel pen can leave a shadow on some vinyls when removed... but so can the silver pen! I always test first now - just as well as one vinyl had shadow marks left by both pens! For that one I put the end marks in the seam allowances and lay down the edge of a long piece of painter's tape between the marks to sew following that edge. That worked really well as long as I was careful not to stretch it. I shall look through your past videos next to see what else you've done. 🙂

@indolovekreation80779 ай бұрын
The diagonal lines that are stitched already hold the foam backing in place, so it really doesn't matter which direction you go on the straight lines.
