Mikuni carbs suck and stock ones actually work for 1/3 of the price check your spark plugs thats a good starting point they can tell you alot .

is this a 4 stroke or 2 stroke carb

I have a problem with my KTM 250 2T The tool has not been used for almost a year This week I found time to take care of it, I did a fuel-oil change, I cleaned the filter plug, everything, finally I tried to start it, but the car could not start. It only started with carburetor spray and shut off straight away From that I understood that the carburetor needed to be cleaned and that's how I did it. Now the problem is different, the motorcycle drives straight up to very, very high turns I played with the air-fuel screw but unfortunately it didn't help. Is there a situation where the problem is different? Something in the carburetor maybe? need help pleases tool,

the question is does the air/fuel screw adjust the amount of air or the amount of fuel going into the carb? And turning the screw out does it add or reduce air or fuel?

I have a 1988 Suzuki savage 650 ,idle is perfect, my problem is that on low throttle is black smoke coming out from exhaust I replaced the spark plugs and still do it , I look info about it and some people say that is the main jet too big and is running rich, what do you think?

These carbs get clogged up and fail so often and cause everybody a world of grief, I wish I could just change everything I have to fuel injectors and a fuel map. I don't know why we are still using 1880's technology in 2024.

That is not at all what it says in the mikuni HSR45 manual as far as your air screw being more than ONE full turn out or at which point you should main jet up or down so I'm STILL confused. And where should the idle be set when starting the procedure because not one person who supposedly knows how to tune these carbs ever even so much as mentions that.... Frustrating

Is the what is the adjustment to the other screw supposed to be the one that's not the air screw

Intake carb boot is cracked and i got a new carb but only moves when quarter choke. I open air box and cover 3/4 then it moves is it becouse of boot or do i need to adjustment on the air intake?

My dr 650 only has one cylinder. Mikuni bst40 with 155 main jet, open airbox and I don’t know the size for pilot. While at idle I can turn the mixture screw all the way in and nothing happens to the idle and supposedly the bike should turn off if I turn it all the way in. Do you know what should I do?

If you have a decent mold why not coved in plastic and pour a plaster mold then sand the inside smooth Im thinking of wrapping my tanks in plastic and pouring a plaster mold sanding the inside smooth and then cutting the mold as needed to make a fiberglass tank and maybe a fiberglass mold too.

Replace the o rings on the air screws. Torn or flattened or roached o-rings need replacing.

I have a vm24-512 round slide carb. So what you're saying is if i have to back out the screw more than 2 turns i need a smaller pilot jet?

This confuses me. If you set the idle and get it idling good then you go to rev it and it’s not clean obviously you still have to mess with the air screw. Why do people say it’s only for idle.

What is the difference between a number 30 piolit ot the old ones that have a 1 in front of the number like 130

How i expand my plastic tanks. I take a Rubbermaid brute garbage can for the source material. I take the fuel tank and cut the sides out. Then i cut a long usually 4 inch strip of the Rubbermaid can. I take that strip and make a loop and epoxy fiberglass it to the side piece i cut off. The old side piece becomes the new side piece. Then i epoxy it back to the tank with the new shaped extension. I sand down and flat black the entire thing and reinstall. I usually get 2 more gallons in the tanks. Most motorcycle tanks are just too small. Nobody wants to go to the gas station 2 times a week just for driving to work.

Love your vids brother. I'm having problems with mine. Cleaner than new and replaced all rubbers and nomore leak past the needle/seat. Its idling perfect, but dies upon throttle as if jets were clogged but arent. Dies on throttle every time unless I spray the carbs while it's running, then it'll rev normal and not die. I've done everything and just don't get it. All stock parts on the mikuni aswell.

Hi, my mini bike starts to run, without touching the throttle, it’s won’t stop running either, even when I press the kill switch and turn off the ignition. After a new minutes it eventually cuts out by itself, but I need to hold the breaks until it does so. Do you have any ideas what this issue could be please?

Cool! Thanks, I am weighing my options for my YZ465 at this moment. It's never been right since I got it, the last person to bore the cylinder went too far...same fellow did the same thing to one of my jugs before I bought the YZ. I did my first bore myself last year and I will NEVER send my jugs out again. So, I am gonna go through the big Yamaha this winter and give it a new top end.

Is it significantly lighter than steel sheet tanks?
