I have yet to accomplish a smooth tumbler. I spend more time sanding than I do creating. ☹ Every tumbler ends up with dents or fish eyes and I've tried so many things to prevent this, to no avail. This tumbler is BEAUTIFUL and I truly enjoyed watching the process. 🤗

Thank you!! I’ll be posting another video of this style tumbler this week using different colors as well! What helped me the most was switching my epoxy to Counter Culture Artist resin. It’s a thicker epoxy and helps coat the tumbler better which leaves less to be sanded. Also, after you add your glitter be sure to smooth it down with parchment paper so no jagged pieces are sticking up.

The video was cool but why would you not show the entire process? Like how you went about applying the epoxy and the resin? I have never seen this type of Tumblr and I would have liked to have seen how the Tumblr was made in its entirety

I apologize for the inconvenience, this video was never intended to be a tumbler for beginners which is why I did not show applying the epoxy. But the epoxy is applied just like any other tumbler.

What kind of Mod Podge are you using? I always see tutorials where people use mod podge, but when I went to buy some there are like 16 types of it,

You are right, there are quite a few options. I just use the regular Mod Podge Matte. It has a yellow label, and I have it linked in the description of the video in my Amazon Store under Crafting Supplies. Hope this helps!

Yes, a UV lamp is absolutely required to cure the UV resin unless you want them to sit out in the sun for several hours.

Hello, I can't seem to find the dragon scales that are attached like yours. I pulled up the website that is listed on what you used but it doesn't look like that those are attached. Thanks in advance. Crystal

Good Afternoon! You are exactly right. The file I have linked was the original file I used and then modified it to connect them together. That was before anyone had posted a connected file on Etsy. Beautiful cup! Is the gold around the geode glitter or alcohol ink, or a gold paint pen? Was I’d put on when the decal was put on?

Thank you!! The gold on the outside of the geode is also alcohol ink. I seal with a couple coats of clear sealer then epoxy till smooth, sand and then add the decals.

You can let it air dry if you prefer. But yes, once it’s dry on the dark tumbler you will start to see the color change.

I love this! What do you estimate the cost is per tumbler (minus the tumbler because we will all use different tumblers)? and what would you charge for it?

Thank you!! I start my color changing tumblers at $55. My estimated cost per tumbler for just materials is around $25 and that will be dependent on how much you pay for the color changing pigment and how much you use per tumbler.

I have made several dragon scale tumblers both with card stock and vinyl. I love the look of card stock over vinyl but I have found card stock made are so much heavier. I have never seen that thermal gel before. This tumbler is stunning! Perfect job. Thank you

Thank you!! You are very right, the cardstock tumblers absolutely have more weight to them and I guess in the end it's all about the overall design features that you are looking for.

The snowflakes were cut at 1.5, 2, & 2.5 inches. For the treeline, you will need to measure around your tumbler once your epoxy is smooth and then add 1/4 inch for overlap.

For these spots, I just googled Leopard Print Pattern SVG, and then cut them in Black Oracal 651 from my Silhouette program.
