I just attached a brand new Nikor 28-300 lens. It works perfectly. I am so happy I came across your site, which re-enthused me about using this camera and accepting some minor digital grain.

So, I just discovered it has 75,000 shutter clicks. Can the shutter be replaced after it wears out at 100,000 or so?

Quite a nice film! I'm always a little careful with very low-light sensitive films but this one looks worth it! Probably expensive since it is from lomo xD

Hi! i read some people complaining about the ragefinder... is that true? i have a noticiable miopia... i read some comparations vs Konika S2 and readed about a better ragefinders in the Konica... I dont have experience in analogic stuff... what do you think? thank you

They offer me this same camera, I have heard people complain about the rangefinder, which is uncomfortable compared to other models, do you think that's how it is?

Got one myself, expired in Feb. 1970, thought I´d give it a try with the one stop per decade rule and expose it with around 0,75 ASA. That might be interesting... especially because I plan to have it developed as b&w reversal film. By the way... That girl is decent, too. A lot more than decent actually, she´s beautiful!

This is my favorite M42 camera, possibly my favorite film camera overall. It has since stolen all the Japanese, Jena, and Russian lenses I've accumulated from other cameras. I love how it feels, how dense it is, and how it has a newer type of meter that takes modern batteries and doesn't degrade over time like the selenium ones did. Maybe one day I'll come across a Fujinon EBC 1.4 and "complete" it.

LR44 batteries are way cheaper and easier. Just toss a rolled up bit of card stock if it needs to not touch the sides.

I got the AX a couple days ago. But it came with a Minolta 55mm 1.4. Not bad for 24 bucks ebay. I bought it for the lens but the camera is in such good shape I'm buying the battery adapter. Wish the bulb setting worked without the battery.

picked up one of these with a minolta lens attached at the thrift store yesterday for only 20USD! i’ve been looking for a camera there for a while since i’ve just wanted to try and get into film photography as a hobby, and for the price i was worried it would be too good to be true. glad to hear that i just lucked out! will probably start looking for a new lens for it now (lens that came with it is a 100-200 mm lens which i’m not going to need for everything + it didn’t come with a lens cap so i think it might be scratched), as well as film and batteries. thanks for posting this review!

Had a BCA. So so sorry I sold it. It had a unique depth of field blur character that I cannot get with any other camera. Hard to describe but it was just different.

What Battery

Yep, I have a D200 and a couple of lenses. So quick and easy to use, no fiddling with numerous menus, just press a few buttons and job's a good one. Love the colours from it as well. Bought mine as a used bargain along with a couple of lenses so whats not to like?

I bought one for 70€ with its vertical grip, it's awesome.

Love, love, love my D200.. Great with old manual lens ...D200 with my 28-80 mm ....3.5/4.5....even at high ISO ....mimics film photos from the 30's through and up to the 60's ....my friends tend to comment without prompt the vintage quality of the pics I take with it ....higher ISO values actually help create that time like quality ...colors are fantastic...if you'd ask I'd recommend manual lens only ...really enhances the photo taking experience , very SLR like

I bought one new in the 70s for $150. It was reliable but not my dream cam definitely. The shutter slap was awful.

I have a Spotmatic F. I think it still the best M42 mount camera Pentax ever made. The limitations of the mount notwithstanding, perhaps their best 35mm SLR ever. The LX tried to compete with Nikon and Canon but they never really tried hard enough to break into that market.

The loading mechanism of the Praktica L-series (like all the MTLs) is quite genius, because out of an 36 exp. film I always get at least 38 exposures and sometimes also 39 exposures. And never had any problem loading it. I own two MTL 5B, one LB and an LB2. And also a Revue ML. But the quality of the images is not defined by the Praktica, it's defined by the lenses. And the Pentacon lenses are pretty good, but of course the also East German manufactured Carl Zeiss Jena lenses are way superior. And for medium format I own the big East German brother of the Praktica, the Pentacon six TL, also with Carl Zeiss Jena lenses. These cameras are so simple, pragmatic, minimalistic. I just love that.

I have watched dozens of videos of k1000 and no one explained features of this camera than you, and you did it under 5 minutes. I never understood why K1000 is sxpensive though.

The funny thing is that for my SRT Super, I had to move the trimmer pot the opposite way, so it's at about 10 o'clock to center the needle for ISO100, 1/125s and f11.
