is there any reason we have to use cotton yarn??? i wanna make one for my brother and the yarn he picked is 94% Acrylic and 6% Rayon
@crochetdaybyday3 күн бұрын
Excellent question! Cotton is a lot more sturdy of a yarn. It will stretch, but other yarns can stretch a lot more than cotton. You can certainly use any yarn you’d like! The stretch will vary depending on the fiber, more or less. Use the yarn he picked! Go for it! I’m sure it’s going to turn out amazing! 🧶🤗💞

Welcome!!! I’m so glad you’re here!! Sorry for the delayed response! If you are able to order yarn, I believe Joann ships to Canada! You can find the yarn on their website. You can also find it at yarnspirations.com! They also ship to Canada! However, Joann may have a better deal on their website. The yarn is called Bernat Blanket Extra Thick! I hope this was helpful!! 💞🤗🧶

I love this bag it so easy and beautiful.... this is so embarrassing, how do you connect the side of the bag? I got lost :(
@crochetdaybydayАй бұрын
I’m so glad you love it! It can be a little tricky, but when you are making the first row, or foundation row for the straps to connect the bag, you’ll single crochet in the five chain row, and single crochet in the single crochet row for a total of 40 rows in the mesh section. You’ll have five single crochets for the end of the bag on each end, if that makes sense? Take your time and find the right row, or you could just single crochet evenly for 40 rows too. I hope this was helpful! Please let me know! 🤗🧶💞

@crochetdaybydayАй бұрын

Ok I’ve made three of these now 😂 it stays the same number of loops in the mesh the entire time right?? My bags continually do not look like these even though I’ve followed the same pattern all 3 times. What on earth am I doing wrong!
@crochetdaybydayАй бұрын
Oh nooooo! You’re absolutely right, the same number of loops in the mesh each time. Are you using different brands of yarn for each of them? Sometimes that’ll make it look a little different, so maybe that? Hard to tell without looking at it, but they can vary a little depending on the yarn used, that’s for sure! I’m sure they all look amazing though!! 🤗💞🧶

I’m having trouble understanding that you used a 6 mm hook when I am using a 5.5 and it was too big then I went down to a 5 and still kept running out of the color before being done with the rounds. I’m trying to make my tension as tight as possible. Maybe I received a bad batch of the yarn or something? Also the red color on the moody cherry or whatever it’s called bled onto the yellow in several areas. I’m getting arthritic hands frogging and redoing this so many times. Taking a day off tomorrow to rest my hands and nerves and will re-attempt with a 4.5 mm hook and see if it helps me.
@crochetdaybyday2 ай бұрын
I understand the confusion! (Also, sorry for such a delayed response!) I have a very tight tension so the bigger the hook the closer to the actual gauge for the square I get. If you're having to size way down, it sounds like you may have a pretty loose tension, but always worth trying a few things. There was so much trial and error for me too! Lots of frogging, lots of adding/removing stitches, such as chaining or not between clusters, and so on! It is a bit maddening, and maybe you did get a skein that was off a bit. If anything you don't have to make granny squares out of it, you can make a cowl or something like that?! Haha, good luck!🤗💞🧶

Hi Nadeige, I am so glad you are feeling better. I have anxiety too so I know where you're coming from. I recently came across your KZbin channel when I was looking for reviews of the RRSS All in One Granny Square yarn. I decided to try the yarn and bought a skin at a local Wal-Mart. I'm glad I did because I went back a couple of weeks later and all the granny square yarn was gone. I have been working on a couple of skeins each day so eventually, Day By Day, I'll finish the skein. Thank you for your tutorials on this yarn. I hope you are feeling better every day. Fall is coming, and with it the promise of cooler days. 🍂🍁🍃

I have a couple of questions. For one how much yarn does it take in total to make a market bag that has 40 rows? Do you need more than one skein of yarn?
@crochetdaybyday3 ай бұрын
Good question! I realized I never said how much is needed to make this bag, but you’ll need approximately 300+ yards of yarn to make this bag, give or take depending on your tension. I hope that’s helpful! 💞🧶🤗
