This edge will take more than one string? Anyone know how to finish/secure the first string and start the second/third without making transition obvious?

Oh no, I’ve been doing it wrong for literally using two strands and then it makes it look four strands when I fold and start sewing. I’ve been doing it wrong. Thank you so much for this! ❤️

So wait, you only use one strand for "two strand"? You just double it over itself??
@povitrulya-cross-stitch11 ай бұрын
Greetings! We appreciate your inquiry. For this task, you can utilize a single extended thread by folding it in half; this method is highly convenient. Aim for an approximate length of 60 cm (23 inches) for the folded thread. Kinf regards, Povitrulya

@@povitrulya-cross-stitch Thanks for your response. I got a cross-stitch kit for Christmas and the instructions were not very good. My mom actually showed me how you can stitch over your loose thread instead of tying knots like I started doing D: Getting better every day :)

Ok, so what does the symbol on a pattern look like? Because on mine it shows 2 different sets of symbols. and the key in the back of the magazine says you do 4 little stitches in that one area. They call it Petite cross stitch. Im kind of confused

Awesome videos that are recorded "up close" so we can actually see what you're doing & what we're doing wrong...lol. I just realized I've been doing it the wrong way for 40+ years!!! Lol! Thanks for sharing!! ❤️

Hi, how did you tie your thread to your needle when you were finishing the edges?
@faeryeharp3 жыл бұрын
They’re using the loop start method to start the border. If you search “loop start cross stitch” there are a few videos who explain how to thread the needle for this. They can explain better than I can lol. But basically you cut one string of thread double the length you need, fold it in half, thread the needle with both the ends of the thread, and pull the ends through the needle until around a couple of inches are through the needle. You just hold onto the ends to make sure that they don’t fall back through the needle.
