Hey condor makes 3 u joint steering shaft. Will this work on this swap to fit oem headers?

It might, This build used custom built motor mounts and we moved the steering shaft by 3/8 of an inch

Nice build, Where could i find more detail related to the CARB engine swap requirement?
@carhabitgarage43562 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sandman. The Bar Ref website has a pdf. that you can download , google it should show up. A key issue right now with OBD2 cars is to have a factory OEM CAl ID and CVN load on the ECU. Hope this helps
@sandman30732 жыл бұрын
@@carhabitgarage4356 If I am using an unmodified OEM ecu from OBD 2 car, you think i would still run into an issue. Thanks for the link to BAR site i will have a look. I have a 1997 M3 and was looking to swap 2jzgte motor and make it CARB legal with all stocks parts.
@carhabitgarage43562 жыл бұрын
@@sandman3073 I would talk to a Bar Ref. 2JZ are popular swaps but OBD 2 cars make it challenging . Getting the EVAP, Purge valves etc to work and then you need an exemption for gas tank . Good Luck sounds fun

Going through the LS3 swap right now and had some questions! Do you happen to know what parts Jake used for the custom steering shaft? Specifically part numbers or a link to it? We are in the process of relocating the steering shaft. Currently doing some planning and test fitting so any information would be super helpful!

Owned my car since Aug 2006. I have a 1995 Alpine White M3 with a gt35r OBD1 s52 swap, 450rwhp/rwtq, 117,000 miles on the chassis, under 25k motor, 2.79 lsd around 5k, fresh detents in the 5spd, DLS Iridium speakers, Elemental design amps, JL stealth boxes, Denon HU (currently not functioning), welded 4 point cage, Work S1 17x9/18x10 (needs work heh), AST 4100 coils, many other suspension components, all reinforcements done, custom headlights, newish ppg windshield, repainted Alpine White but during winds had some stuff fall on her so she'll need a respray. I'm the third owner. If anyone is interested I'm in SoCal and can send you the bimmerforums link. 😀

About 7 months ago I got a 98’ convertible 5 speed with a full period correct Dinan package on it; with the rare Fikse/Dinan wheels, supercharger, full carbon fiber engine bay treatment along with my favorite estoril blau on dove grey color combo. Car looks brand new and everything works. Only negative is is that its got 180k miles on it. I paid 18k, but Im seeing similarly modded examples on sale for 30k plus. I just got the car and I love it, but its my daily driver… should I look into selling? If it creeps up past 40k in value I might start being afraid to drive it 😂

1st congrats on the great buy and car. 2nd everyone has the same problem. It's worth more money and you don't want to reduce that value. I had a similar issue with a low mileage Cadillac CTs-V wagon, The car was mint and kept rising in value. I sold it but not because of the value as much it was not the car for me. I really want to buy an e30 M3 but if you pay that money and mod it , you most likely will reduce the value but have a great car for yourself . Let us know what you do. Good Luck

Hey sir I have a question I am getting a 1998 m3 135 k convertible for 11k do u think it’s a good buy
@carhabitgarage43563 жыл бұрын
Without seeing the car I couldn’t really say if its a good buy. In the last year on BAT 10 convertibles sold with prices in this range $12K-24K. Rust, accidents that are poorly repaired and no maintenance records hurt the value. I would spend the money $$ for a PPI Pre Purchase Inspection. Good Luck the convertibles are beautiful .

Thanks :) EROD alone does not solve the 1996 OBII engine swap rules for CA emissions. Model year 95 or older can use EROD and pass BAR referee. 96 requires all emissions equipment (EVAP, Purge , Pressure Sensors etc) Good Luck with your swap
