It will all look completely different if you have a season with a lot of rain. You might find it hasn't had a good wet season for longer than normal.

It's an interesting find, no idea what it is. The stone terrace walls make me think that the land was cleared and used many years ago. You are probably going to be discovering a lot over time.👍

I know how it is to try digging up roots, here we have a tree we call a Port Jackson, it was introduced from Australia and it grows like a weed. The worst part is that it has a tap root, you have to get them out before they get bigger otherwise you'll be using a tractor.🫣

Straight is boring, I could teach you something about man handling lol, I am talking about the beam here.... 😁😂 Sorry, I couldn't help myself with that, seriously it's not easy finding timber that doesn't twist after a while, I've had the same issue when I was building. 👍

I'm afraid this might become a theme....handling twisted beams. I'm sure I'll find a way to cope with it.

It's going to be really strong, great way of creating a place for the wall to tie into. You obviously have put a lot of thought into it, you are getting close now to the next stage of your build.👌

It's about 18000 square meters (almost 4.5 acres). I do have neighbors, but they are a couple of hundred meters away. Also, they are on the other side of the hill.

Someone went through a lot of effort building it, I love the arches, the tiny one on the side is very unusual and the stone around the tops are a work of art. It's going to be awesome to see what you do, you sure are not scared of work. The form has worked well and even though you had some minor cavities you sorted your method out straight away. 👍

A great tip for unrolling pipe or wire is to have a pipe or pole through the centre so that it can spool off. Staked into the ground for heavy pipe or just held in your hands as you walk. I've had major problems trying to get rid of a birds nest of knots, I learned the hard way. 👍

Careful in tightening those anchor bolts; you can stretch and snap them if you over-tighten them. Besides, they just need to be snugged.

Nice you had some help this time. Excellent editing and story telling, as always. Is the plan still for an open deck or cabin? If you’re in a low-light pollution area, an open deck would be ideal for stargazing.

Best episode yet! Takes discipline to document details of the construction process, especially from interesting angles. Good balance between the work sequences and exploration of the property. The amount of narration is just right for my taste, some was a bit hard to hear though, perhaps an external mic would help.

I think you should have put a washer and nut on the bottom of the center rod, and then painted the whole rod. At the top when troweling you needed to cover the threads in tape. Should have put a time-capsule under the footings.

Try a wetter concrete mix. You can pour directly into the form, then tap the side of the form to eliminate voids. This will also insure a 100% cure.
@oackwoodinfrance

@DSTE I followed the instructions on the bag to the letter, but the mix ended up pretty dry. Adding more water is probably a good idea. Thanks for your suggestion!
