Great video and some really neat footage of the KIngfisher. I was here today for exactly the same thing and had quite a bit of luck especially at the Mallard Hide or so I thought not long home and discovered I had shot all my stills as small jpegs so feeling like a complete numpty 🙄 I did manage some decent 4K footage though. Its going to be a hardship lol but I guess I will be making another trip up again tomorrow 😀

Came across your vlog somehow, and I thought.....I recognised that path you started to walk on, and yes you're at my little sanctuary at the Cardigan wildlife centre, I have many a happy hour in that hide, a couple of years ago I walked in to be met by two BBC camera crews and the springwatch presenter Lolo, such a nice man and made me feel welcome and not in the way ❤

It really is a small world!! We visit the wildlife centre quite often to try our hands at the kingfishers or otter if were super lucky and it never gets old going down there. Everyone is always super nice and respectful in the hides. Wow that must have been amazing meeting him! Don't get chances like that often for sure, we are very jealous haha

Had a similar experience at The Gann, Pembrokeshire there was an Osprey a juvenile that had been hanging around for a few weeks before making its long flight and Lolo and a film crew were down to get some footage and you are right he is a lovely guy 😀

Does look like good fun and great way to keep fit and see some of our lovely Pembrokeshire. There is actually an app for iPhone which is free not sure how good it is though. We also like Geocaching really good fun probably not so good for making a video unless you keep the location of the actual Geocache secret. It’s surprising how many there are in Pembrokeshire 😀

Honestly way more fun than I thought, didn't think I would be so happy to see a block of concrete 😂 I didn't know there was an app though but I will definitely go try it out and see if it helps me much on me next adventure! I had been using the os map app as it has all the trig points on there. I have heard of geocaching but wasn't sure how you get into it and also yeah probably wouldn't be able to record it otherwise we would ruin the point of it

This is a place I have visited a couple of times and like yourselves the first time I visited I spent too long in the penned off areas. Whilst it was great to see so many strange Ducks and Geese etc it was kind of like shooting fish in a barrel and although I took plenty of pics they never felt the same as the wildlife pics I have taken of truly wild birds and mammals. Its good to try new places and its probably a wee bit far to travel to on a regular basis but you never know what to expect until you visit for yourself. I really enjoyed your video you certainly covered a lot of ground and let people see what the place has to offer. When I was there I was with my wife and she had a bag of food from the centre to feed the penned in birds and whilst I was taking photos one of the Magpie Geese snuck up behind me and bit my calf actually drawing blood I don`t think my lovely wife stopped laughing till we got back home to Milford Haven 🤣

Hi Craig, That was the thing it was nice for a change but was a bit of a wild goose chase (no pun intended) but I see so many people catch awesome photos of kingfishers and other creatures but when we went saw near to nothing in the other side. Oh god the only angry looking ones there were the black swans who continues to charge me but that was as nasty as they got. Furthermore we have got a few more new and interesting places coming up away from pembs for a change so will be nice and hopefully good fun for the next couple of weeks! Thanks for watching also! Regards Cam

Our weather has been pretty lousy here in Wales and that is coming from a Scotsman 😀 I have been to Cilgerran Castle a few times as Pembrokeshire Falconry used to put displays on in the Castle grounds always great to get to see the Birds of Prey up close and even have them on your arm. Its also nice and close to Teifi Marshes just a stones throw away. Wildlife photography can be very frustrating if I had a pound for everytime I came away with no photos I would probably be retired now lol but you never know what might turn up so I guess thats why we keep going back to try again 😃
@livingwithcam_shan
@livingwithcam_shan 5 ай бұрын
Hahah yeah the welsh weather has really been testing our patience as of late XD I don't know if they still hold the falconry in Cilgerran castle any more, or at least I haven't seen it being promoted anywhere, but will have to keep a look out if they do as that's something I would definitely want to see! And you are right with the frustrating part but it's also satisfying when the thing you have been waiting for finally shows up and you get a good photo of it so it makes the waiting worth it in the end :)

I really enjoyed that. I miss just going on adventures in the woods and seeing not only wildlife but whatever I can find. That Robin at the end that was really cool. By the way Shannon deer is singular and plural :) I don't know if the deer over there is similar to our deer here in the states but I'm pretty sure since it's winter time well depending on when you film this their bedded down for the winter usually and don't really come out for food because it's kind of scares usually in the springtime you'll see them more in in the springtime because well that's running season and also they're trying to eat a lot of food because it's fresh and now.

Great to see you back 😀You were in the right place to see the Red Deer the lower path would probably have been better and watching into the fields especially along the tree lines that head down the fields. My best luck has been in the field nearest the Fforest Centre. Back in October when they were rutting you would have heard the Stag Grunting and Bellowing even from back in the car-park. There are also Sika Deer in the marsh very elusive but again my best luck has come from the Otter Hide at first light but I was possibly just in the right place at the right time.

I was over Bosherston yesterday and I seen two separate Otters one by the eight arch and one nearer the grassy bridge but no real photo opportunities but still great to see them doing so well. The last two hundred meters to the grassy bridge were under water 8-10 inches in places it was strange seeing Mallards and Moorhens swimming where the path was supposed to be 😃
@livingwithcam_shan
@livingwithcam_shan 9 ай бұрын
Nice we didn't have much luck last week and the other times we've been I've been quite lucky as pink nose or the two kits have been out, one by 8 arch and 2 by grassy but not that day. They always end up spinning around in the water just out of reach from the ideal shot but you can always see them watching you and its like they know they are just out of your range. 🤣 Normally we catch a glimpse and I have so many photos in the backlog of all the days I've been with success and not had a chance to do anything with them yet. The water level was close on the days we went last week but with all that rain we've had with the storm I'm not surprised that it has overtaken the path will defo remember the swimming trunks next time 🤣🤣

Thanks for watching! Cam replying here and to be honest if we went again I would go with the rent a Car option and do alot more with Iceland. As we went as a 4 it made it easier booking these trips around our bundle holiday. This trip took us to some amazing spots and we do wish we had more time at the waterfalls but otherwise we couldn’t fault the entire experience. But I think as it was our first holiday ever together we just took the safer option.
