I think your "exhaustion" punishment is backfiring a little. The ai gets punished for total amount of limb movement, so it does small, jerking back and forth movements. These movements would be very exhausting for a real human (just try to vibrate your limbs like that). I'd like to see what happens if the Ai is also incentivized not to change the direction it is moving its limbs too often, as well as not moving them more than necessary.

I feel like the AI is just trying to make as small of movements as possible. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you made it so starting a movement is more of a punishment then moving them, pushing it to do less but bigger movement instead.

Very impressive that Guy could actually swim like that! His swiming is very funny, but wouldn't it be more effective if he isn't punished for making big arm and leg movements? Because in real life, (most) humans don't swim by only wiggling their hands and feet.

Have a RED vs BLUE AI, where they have a Mexican stand off. They should be able to stand, aim. It seems like a fun idea to me, and reminds me of the table tennis idea you executed!

For the first time I am confident in saying that you took an suboptimal approach. To make the AI swim better and learn faster you could have added a endurance parameter. Moving limbs fast, loses endurance faster, moving more limbs at a time too. Additionally you could have put in endurance loss for switching moving direction of limbs. In the end you would have had a semi-complex endurance calculation that could be used for punishment. The rest was good. The AI would have found optimizations for endurance loss instead of just speed. The twitching was a result of your implementation of punishment for big movements. I am pretty sure the results would have been an unexplainable spasm, but not a stoke (lol).

I've only seen a few videos so far (swimming, snowboarding, and this one) but I strongly suspect the ai might perform better at most things if it could bend its knees. ........ then again, that may not be the point lmao

Why did you punish limb movements? You talk over yourself in the video
@DevinDTVКүн бұрын
you should have punished based on the number of individual limb movements, not the total amount of movement

3:01 wait what, why did you use the actual area instead of the projected?
@b2studКүн бұрын
the area is multiplied by the dot product of the velocity and the surface normal, so it is converted to the projected area

Make his quads stronger, make his core stronger. Make his ankles and wrists weaker. Adjust the amount of force that Guy can apply to each of his muscles . His ankles should not be so strong. Also, humans are rewarded for full body movements, because they get less acute muscular fatigue that way. Over-using one muscle will make it too tired, while a full body movement distributes the fatigue across many muscles. In other words, youll need to simulate muscle fatigue too. good luck guy.

one of the reasons a lot of the ways AI does tasks like it's having a seizure is probably the fact that it doesn't need to account for energy cost. because most of the time we're trying to do things in the most energy efficient way! anywyas this has nothing to do with the video except the ai, just had a revelation and thought to share it in the comments

Would adding a limit to how fast the network can change it's outputs stop the twitchyness? Like just easing between values so it has to do smoother more controlled movements
