Hey, thanks for the question! I won't be able to make a video like that for a while, but I could try my best to answer it all here. If you have more questions, feel free to respond to this. So there are 2 clusters of dorms, those being west campus and north campus (I lived on north and I think it was an amazing decision, I definitely recommend it). North campus has more of the ‘college campus’ feel, and west campus feels like a city. Both clusters are close to campus, but west is a tad closer, depending on your major. Both are about the same distance to the ave as well (the ave/u district is the street with all sorts of fun shops and restaurants), but life on the ave has gotten to be farther north on the street. Also, the two clusters are separated by a ten/fifteen minute walk, depending which hall. Last thing, both are about the same distance from the light rail station North Campus: Pros: Feels like a community. There is a big field in the middle (Denny Field) and there are always activities going on there. Super cheap ice cream place right under Madrona. Closer to Greek Life if you’re into that. Because of that, the party scene is a lot greater. McCarty has the nickname McParty for that All the dorms (except McMahon) are super new and have 2 kitchens per floor. McMahon Cons: I lived in Oak Hall and I loved it. I’m thinking about dorming there again next year. However, it’s the most dead dorm of them all on North. So watch out for that McMahon West Campus Pros: Bigger District Market Area 01, a place with a drumset (you know I love that), ping pong, and all sorts of fun games Cons: Seattle at night is not a safe place to be, especially on west campus. The lounges are pretty dumpy, uncomfortable, and they don’t have 2 kitchens on every floor. In my experiences, North is a lot more outgoing than West. The parties wish they could be North, too. You can’t just go outside and play catch with a friend. As for the dorms themselves, all the halls are pretty much the same, except for McMahon, which you share a living space with 7 others. It’s a very humbling experience. But yeah, that pretty much covers it. You’re gonna have a great time and meet all sorts of great people. Go Dawgs!
