Yes and RDF produces 1.4 TONNES OF CARBON DIOXIDE per 1 tonne of waste. It is extremely bad for the climate and air quality.

Good spot! The facility in the video is Landor Street Materials Recycling Facility, which you can get a great view of from the nearby railway.

Hi Gary, thank you for your question. This type of waste would be sent off as refuse derived fuel, which has a lower calorific value. SRF and RDF both help to divert waste away from landfill by turning residual waste into alternative fuel. If it’s not suitable for RDF or SRF then it will go to an energy from waste facility.
