Thanks to. Bruce for acknowledging. Elvis s. Impact on the world. Still people are talking about him not because of the sexuality. He didn't want that part.but his singing. interacting with his audience. He didn't need to make speeches.just sing. Many. Any song and we were hooked. He had the.charisma kindness. Could joke with people talk with them and people just loved him and still do. Even.younger ones are coming to know and enjoy his music and what a fantastic singer he truly was. Elvis lives on will till whenever there's one of his fans alive.

Every great entertainer we have today KNOWS. the impact that Elvis had on music and pop culture ...Many of them like Bruce Springstein. John Lennon and others will admit it , and some won't . But they ALL know !

If you search it here, they have the top I'll say 100 songs of the 1940's here on You Tube and late one night I found it and started listening then progressed to the top 100 songs of the 1950's. Had Elvis not come along who knows how long we would have been listening to cheeseball or elevator style music (what teens labeled the music from this period as) everything then was just as pop music is now in how everything sounds the same with no edge to it and they want you to not be influenced or have thought provoking music out there. (Radio Nowhere by Bruce Springsteen is a great example of this) Lastly, being born in 1965 I seen and heard the songs written and sung in protest over the Vietnam War, many of which were never heard on radio as they tried to suppress the voice demanding to be heard. Some stations would play them, but not too many.

I've heard that canard ''He didn't write songs''. No! He just INVENTED the entire concept of the multi media Rock Superstar, inspired everyone who came after him, changed Western Culture for the better, and blew down the closed doors to so many brilliant musicians who had been locked out of ''the building''. I was a 13 year old boy, down South, when he died (Aug.16, 1977), and, child, you would have thought it was the end of the world. Folks were standing in the road (with their front doors left open-AC getting out and mosquitoes getting in- wringing their hands and whispering to their neighbors. Every dog for a country mile took to howling, and then a powerful thunder storm swept down and drove everyone indoors to their radio's and the 6 o'clock news. President Carter issued a statement (I never forgave him for not ordering the flags to half staff- a terrible oversight), and even the Soviet Union sent flowers to his funeral. ANYONE who claims ''he didn't really die that day'' WAS NOT THERE. One could FEEL it in the air- Elvis had left the building!

For me it's recognising much of the same. A significant paradigm shift in the way that EP blasted his way onto what was then an infancy of TV and that somewhat frightened mainstream US thinking and living on how to consume music. The way he moved and his looks/sexuality got conservative religious adult white folk so frightened at the time. He connected millions into listening and thinking religious conservatism needs to be overcome. It became the catalyst to a music revolution that most certainly was led by British bands and that stepped us all on with the music front!
