so I came across this after the Halo run started resurfacing. I feel like I'm in better understanding of Cody's mindset going into this event. He speedran 2 other games before this, the local time was currently after 1am. Everyone in that room is exhausted. I can sympathize with Cody in a way for being overwhelmed with running 3 games in the span of ~7ish hours & I'm sure he had regrets from this event. Regardless, I wish him well & hope people remember him for the positives, like being one of the early founders of the Halo speedrunning community. I may not have gotten into Halo if I didn't watch Cody's run tbh, so perhaps he inspired countless others to do the same. Cody is like the Olympics Raygun of the Halo community, by bringing a niche community into the spotlight with unorthodox means and good intention.

even though the speedru is good and the strafe jumping perfect and all trickjumps done perfect you can see at 9:02 that the blaster fired toooooo fast cuz its sped up, i think he claimed even the WR for a while

On this date, October 27th, 2024, I FINALLY got a sub-3:20 on Fire Field! Final time of 3:19.98! I was sweating bullets. I had 2:41.34 going into the final lap and even messed up the first wall bounce but immediately executed a speed boost followed by a perfect "S" turn. After the big "S" turn, I saw my time was 3:03 and I knew I had a chance and got it done.

Man, this guy was once legendary. Then he turned out to be a real POS... And before you whine about not using the correct pronouns, I only give respect to people who deserve it.
