Hi Paul, I just wanted to thank you for your videos, they have been a tremendous help in the run up to my test and learning the Featherstone area (I live in Walsall) and made private practice so much easier. I’m pleased to say I passed today first time with 2 minors 🚗🥳🎉

I failed at this roundabout on Saturday 4th Jan 2025. I didn’t stick to the left far enough upon entering the roundabout 😢

@Nisha-R-a94 ahhh nevermind. It is a bad roundabiut- road markings are very poor. You can do the in the RH lane as well - ask your instructor how. Best of luck for your next attempt. 🙏

Hi Paul, thank you for wonderful videos. At 39:50 would you indicate right or left? I suppose right. That’s weird kind of a junction.

Hi Paul, she did well at the round about at 16:20 but she kept the Left signal On and it seemed that she was gonna take the third exit (the small stork on the round about sign and 30 road sign which is visible to us). Would it not be confusing for the other road users?

Hi Paul, I just wanted to ask that there is no speed change sign when you reach Birmingham road at 20:20 although we know that speed limit at Birmingham road is 30. But there was no speed change sign from 20-30 at your route from St Michael/St Chad to Birmingham road. Please clear this.

Hi Paul, at 09:39 you are turning right on to the main road and waiting at the central reservation which you say is wide enough but I can see that your car is obstructing the way of those who need to turn right. Would you please clear this?

@aamnaafzal2282 I'm definitely not obstructing by being in that central reservation. 👍 vehicles wishing to turn right from the main road in to my current road would simply drive past the end of my car. Have you been there?

Hi Paul. Just a question that if the round about is clear and we are sure that no one is coming, can we cross it in 3rd gear? What are your recommendations and what does highway code say about it?

@aamnaafzal2282 a roundabout is a junction and we can deal with a junction in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear, whatever is appropriate for the road and traffic conditions 👍

@ brilliant. My driving instructor said that I have to be in 2nd when I am approaching the round about. But I feel safe/more secure when I am in third.

@ciara9095 it is a very good question. Are you using the middle lane?? Some examiners like to see a right signal - but to me, I think it might confuse a road user in lane 3. If you're in the RH lane, then yes, use a right signal.

@RioDrivingSchool yes middle lane. My instructor failed me on a mock because I didn't indicate right at the island, and I didn't indicate because I also thought it would be confusing to drivers in the right lane. I'm just glad I didn't have to come from that way on my test 😂

Why at 19:50 you marked Lichfield exit as 3rd exit and not the 4th exit. Can you please comment and explain. Thank you xxx

@ishadhillon7505 the second exit is the dual carriageway - it looks like x2 exits but really it should be counted as just x1 exit because there is x1 exit to leave, and x1with a 'no-entry' sign on it - for traffic coming off the dual carriageway from the other side of the roundabout. Hope that helps. It confuses many people. Thanks for bringing that up. 👍

22:00 , the whole beginning he uses left lane for going straight, 23:15 national speed limit roads - you cant pull out of them in second gear/u need to have good abservation and pull out in first gear.

In a place written school zone with no speed limit visible, and on a weekend, is it safe to do 30 or stick to 20

@olycynkitchen831 are school halls ever hired out at a weekend, for say, a karate class? You never know what might be happening. I'd still be cautious. If on test, tell the examiner what you're doing and why. 👍

This test route is not clear as there is lot of sunshine in camera also the screen is small as it is split in 2. If you can upload with full screen view of the road with your voice in the background, it will be great.. But thanks for your work, it really helps..

Is swan road outside the test centre a 30mph road? Feel like there’s no where that tells the speed of that road

@therealpro9646 Yes, 30mph MAX. If you are heading toward BIRD Street you'll have to go considerably slower due to the potential pedestrian activity next to the park. There are also loads of parked cars up there, reducing the width of the road. 👍
