I know people like the keltec p17. I picked one up, and while I like it. Unless I'm running CCI mini mags then I can expect 2-3 failures to eject at a minimum per magazine with federal and aguila ammo un-suppressed.

I prefer the Dual-Lok. The Gate-Lok is great for clone rifles or for those who want to just run A2 flash hiders. Both systems have been secure and stable for me but if I had to choose one then it’d be the Dual-Lok.

I got one on a back up rifle that ive been using for night drills etc. Its been a year, its been abused, dropped, wet and its still going. The the mount isnt great, Ive been running it on an arisaka mount and the pressure pad took a dumb about 4 months in. For 32 bucks?! ! For training purposes it will do alright. For serious stuff, you're right. Honestly id spend 3 times more and get a streamlight over the surefire.... thats just me. Surefire is way over priced, mainly because of their military contract$$$$

Mine runs fine on anything I put in it. Bulk pack CCI anything even subs but no optic on top either. Suppressed or not been great.

I even ran a bulk pack of Federal that I have no idea how old it was very old stuff I know only issue then was a couple failures to fire struck good just didn’t go off.

I've got a Gen 2 with about 800 rounds thru it. Other than some fail to fires (ammo related), flawless and super accurate. I feed it almost entirely Federal Auto Match (Brown Box).

The projectile flies through cooler air with less resistance acting against it than in warmer air... I barely graduated high school so thats the best of my understanding...

Im currently having an issue with my mk2 lower and it not always locking back. Super frustrating. Iv used a different ambi lower with the same upper and it locks back everytime. Leaning towards something on this mk2 lower being out of spec.

@CalebDowning I did do that. I think it actually might be a gassing issue. I'm running a 14.5 Triarc barrel and carbine buffer and spring and getting 330-4 ejection. Took another trip to the range and found with AAC 556 it seems to lock back each time and with herters 556 it does about half the time. With 223 it does not. I did compare this lower with my other giessele and silencerco and when you lock the bolt back with a magazine in and then pull the charging handle all the way back there is definitely a little more space between the bolt and the mag catch than on the MK2. so I'm thinking with the MK2 lower it does need just a bit more gas to lock back. Also triarc is known for being gassed on the soft side so might just open up the gas port a tiny bit.

I like that they are innovating like this. The changes make sense and I agree with the need to evolve the AR platform. I just wish they had the capacity to support the main benefit of the AR, which is its modularity. I want an Fm15 in 6.5 creedmore and I can't get one, because its not supported
