This movie should be called my cheating, gullible husband. Yes, the wife had her priorities mixed up, but he did waaaaay too much. He did not take the time to talk to her or investigate before impregnating the maid and mistreating his own child. He just listened to a made-up story and did the absolute most. The wife had a very good friend. She told her the truth even though she knew it might upset her. I'm not sure I would have forgiven him. I know that for certain, the maid would not have been allowed to walk away without any repercussions.
