Thank you so much for this! I think it's ridiculous to pay $350 a year for maintenance on this exact model standby generator I have. I love it!

Meh. No direction on how to locate the flame sensor or hot surface ignitor.

We appreciate the feedback. This video is meant to inform homeowners about the general furnace maintenance process. If you don't have a hardcopy, oftentimes you can find an owner's manual online for your particular furnace containing a diagram that indicates the exact locations of key parts like the flame sensor and surface ignitor. We always recommend having service professional maintain your furnace for safety and efficiency.

After you drill into the exhaust do you just seal it with mastic tape afterwards or something along those lines?
@Justcallheritage
@Justcallheritage 10 ай бұрын
*Not professional advice, depends on manufacturer specs, also check your area for code requirements. But generally yes, a quality mastic tape (thick foil back) can be used, but you can also use a steel/brass plug with teflon tape, or sometimes you can find specialty metal or silicone plugs made just for this purpose. Some people even use hi-temp silicone sealant from a tube. There's a few different options, but again it's best to call a local professional to do this for you. Thanks for your question!

You may want to turn off the fuel first and let the gas run out of the carburetor. Then turn off the switch. Trying to line up the cable plug with the inlet at night? Take a marker or white-out and make a line on the plug & socket to line up the two before you twist it. Keep battery charged. Install emergency lights that come on when power goes out. Install them where you set up the generator, at the panel and maybe in the main hall and stairs. Have an extra spark plug. If you have LP or NG, get a Dual-Fuel or Tri-Fuel generator. If you have a large A/C unit you may want to install a Soft-starter on the outside unit to reduce the peak input amperage.

I don't use automobile oil the ZDDP is way to low for air cooled applications especially for continuous RPMs the shear stability isn't very high with these oils I only use Briggs and Stratton 5w30 100% synthetic or Amsoil small engine oil 5w30 100% synthetic they are around 1300 ppm on ZDDP the oil your using is around 750 ppm and no where near 100% synthetic there's a certain percentage that needs to be to labeled full synthetic even Mobil 1 not 100% not even close for most brands, the bearing load is way to high for low ZDDP oils the reason they are low level nowadays is the emission system they can't have alot zinc and phosphorus true small engine oil is very similar to racing oil except they have more detergents for dirt these car oils are ok for short outages and exercise but begins to wear the cams out and the main bearings on the crank prematurely the bearing loads on these engines are extreme compared to a passenger car

Why would you pull the pump off to check the drive coupler when pulling the motor is much easier, and now you can clean the fan cage if necessary, which you left out? Many techs don’t even check the coupler, I change those things out if they look at me funny. Nothing worse than going out at 2am because of a little piece of plastic! Stay warm!

I wrote to you a couple of times. I would like to know from an intelligent person; As I wrote before, the Technician didn't know how to instruct me with this unit. We really have uneducated people working in a much needed demand. I have a PRO 1 T-701. I finally figured out how to operate this model. Remind you, No Manual was included. I don't have the model with all individual steps on the unit. My unit is a + - having to hold together. Then you get your degrees to program.on the right upper side of unit. This is where I found my Thermostat to be a problem. There's this blue face on the screen shown when you push down the button on top. This is where you also have to program this thermostat to equal your entire house. Why would this Thermostat show two readings? One for outside weather, then inside weather? Push the upper button on top, you'll see two different readings, why is that? This is my education without a Tech. I must say, this is not my position, yet I did a better job from a said CAC. I hope this can help many I'm extremely Proud of Myself! 👩🏻‍🦰👍👆

This thermostat sucks, you need to use a lot of force to take out the battery, dont use ur finger nail, you will end up destroying your nail and might need medical attention.

I have a PRO 1 T-701 Thermostat. This has to be the worst form of a Thermostat. It has the features as you said, but how can a Technician bypass the most necessary steps when this Thermostat is in running mode? This unit actually has a programmed mind of its own. It has Three (3) Readings! I'll Explain as I go into details. Remember now, you're the Technician showing me how to program my PRO 1 T-701 Thermostat. Here Goes: I program in the upper right hand corner, at 80 Degrees. I never had to program a Thermostat at 80 Degrees in all my years of using a Thermostat. Next: My PRO 1 Thermostat T-701 runs to reach set temperature as programmed. This is the most important part of this PRO 1 T-701 Unit, this Unit had a "Five Minute Delay," which continuously runs until it goes down from Set Degrees from 80, to 79 Degrees? Unheard of in all my years of using a Thermostat. Now I freeze because this set temperature is designed all so wrong? I set this "CO'" on 1.1 for cool. This has to be the most annoying unit ever designed. I literally hate this unit. There's not one person whom works for this Company knows anything to program a Thermostat with their Name on it. What a waste of money, Man Power. Of Intelligence. Can anyone explain the future of this unit? It has such a pretty blue light, but doesn't work the way you want it? Why do I have to have my Thermostat keep running once it reaches my set-up program? This can be annoying. Thank You!

If you put the fan on automatic mode, what exactly does that mean? Does it adjust the temperature to what degree I want and automatically go to that and keep it that way? Say I put the fan at 70 and set it to automatic--does that mean that the unit will adjust the room temperature to 70 and keep it that way?

Great video. I replaced the condenser, bit still would not run. I don't mind as it was 7 years since I replaced it. I went to step 2 and found an earwig smashed under the contact point. problem solved, Your video helped. P.S. I was surprised to find there was still electricity at the contacts after pulling the disconnect out.

I hate. hate. hate. hate.loathe ENTIRELY Pro 1 thermostat makers. Their thermostat wont let you just turn the temperature up and down. the Pro 1 thermostat forces people to figure out some stupid god forsaken schedule which takes 3 days to program. why do I have to schedule a time I leave the house? Im a stay at home mom assholes. I NEVER leave the house. I am reminded how much I hate pro 1 thermostats each time the seasons change. I hate them on a personal level. I JUST WANT TO TURN MY AC ON! I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO EARN A TECHNICAL DEGREE IN THE PROCESS. YOU ARE WORSE THAN MICROSOFT!
