Rather accident. I don't think that it was a bird strike. It was minutes earlier in the same lift as me, and it did not make any noise or attack attempts. It seems that it wanted to fly between the wing and me and too late realized that there were lines ahead.

I have no idea how governments would react, but sometimes sh*t happens, but more of importance is that the bird, my wing and I came out without harm.

@MichalMaterna, bylo to asi možné, ale mezi Oblík a Milá mel jsem 2,5-3,5m/s sink, tak rozhodl jsem se že vrátím do Raný. Moc ambice neměl jsem, byl jsem spíš rád že konečně byla termika a ze jsem mohl hrát pod mrakem😀

@@rickardfleetwood did you just pick a spot close to the ocean and ease down there with just a little bit of brake on until it was ready to stall? I just had this picture of me filling my pants with trouser biscuits trying to make a landing in that spot. That upwind downhill landing would be pretty tricky to make and then winding up in front of the camera where you could actually have your picture taken while you were doing it is yet another art on top of art. You're not doing a dive here apparently and getting a Time swoop you're coming in at trim speed somewhere along the way and putting on the brakes until it slows down enough it just will set you on the ground. Miracle is the word I see when I think about me getting it to work.

@@rickardfleetwood I'm having plenty difficulty with the ground handling alone. I have a school that tows me into the air and there's a giant flat place to land. I spent all my money on it but I don't have the ground handling yet and running back and forth and picking things up is hard on me so I have to get in better shape. On the other hand I've looked up and watched thousands of hours of videos and came up with a safety rule I'd like to contribute to everybody. Always put your harness all the way on or take your harness all the way off if you unbuckle a single buckle on your harness unbuckle every buckle on your harness if you buckle a single buckle on your harness buckle every harness on your harness. If you see someone attached to a wing with a partially buckled harness speak sternly to him with all the love in your heart try to remember this if nothing else.

Ground handling is really crucial for exercising the glider control and staying in contact with the wing, especially in case of longer periods without flying. Preferably not on a totally flat area but rather on a small slope to simulate real take-offs and landings as realistic as possible without actually flying. Safety is always the top priority no matter what. That's why we should always execute the 5-step pre-flight check, which includes checking that we are strapped up properly. And yes, I agree that it's better to keep strapped up correctly or remove the harness totally, everything between increases the risk of making mistakes and forgetting something. Another thing, do not stress, rather choose a low category first wing (rather an A or maybe a low B wing depending on skill level), later on when the skill set is built up enough, then upgrade to a more advanced glider if needed, not before, a good instructor should be able to advise which level of first wing to choose. Once again it's all about safety and feeling comfortable with the equipment 🙋🏻

@@rickardfleetwood yeah those things are all ideal and if you have a lot of money you have an ideal situation I'm kind of in a bind myself so I appreciate the advice I just don't have the cash for all that.
