So, the metal sonic reveal did bring up an interesting thought to mind, we know that Knuckles lost his tribe while tracking Longclaw. But seeing her in an injured state didn’t convince me that she managed to wiped them out. Knuckles recognized Sonic’s quill in the beginning of the second movie makes me believe that maybe early versions of metal sonic were the actual cause. Perhaps he heard rumors that a “blue hedgehog” was what wiped out his clan so it naturally just brought him to sonic. It’s just a thought and nothing concrete, and there may be details I got completely wrong but still fun to think about
