I guess all of you fucks saying "Kill it faster" would rather us eat the seaweed. Why don't you argue with the sharks that only take a bite out of it and leave the rest of the fish wriggling in the ocean.

I must tip my Hat to Mike for such an incredible Tuna. I also Tip my hat to the ENTIRE Vagabond crew for a splendid job, working with Mike through the entire catch and then boating this Epic Fish.

Not so much bleeding the fish as much as stopping it from killing someone with the tail. Spiking the fish this way also will stop the meat from getting spoiled from chemical reactions in the fish blood and spoiling the meat. It is not as easy to hit the sweet spot in the head sometimes. Most of the times the fish is dead and it is just nerves and muscles reactions, but it can be dangerous to anyone close to the fish.

Well if that was a Bluefin John could sold that baby to Japanese Tuna Traders for Between 40000-150000 depends on quality of meat and fat percentage.More fat On the belly and tail end firmer more money it worth more cash!I'm not sure how much for Yellowfin but I know it's not nearly high as Bluefin.I caught a Bluefin once 71 lkg and kept it had 6o kg pure Orgazmic meat lasted for 3 yrs Blues smoked and dried about 20 kg froze the rest!I ate both Bluefin is way better but Yellows r gr8 too!

Not so rare, these are Yellowfin Tuna, Not like the Giant Bluefin in the Atlantic. These fish are not endangered. These are caught normally in the southwest pacific.

i appreciate when a fisherman wins a one on one battle with a tuna, were slowly depleting the species,if this fish was caught longlining or by methods tuna dont have much of a chance,i would not hold much respect for the fisherman, this guy earned his fish good job john.
