I grew up in Moldova in the country side, but i never saw a cornelian tree in my area. But where my grandma was living, she had plenty of them. She used to make a compot out of them. She collected lots of them from big trees in the forest, then put them in 3L jars, added water and sugar and cooked them in a hot water bath. Then she sealed the jars, let them for about 24h to cool down, then she brought and stored them in the root cellar. It was such a delicious and refreshing drink! Since many years I live in Switzerland and I was surprised to see this tree growing as a decorative schrub along the streets, houses, parks etc. And some locals think that this is a poisonous fruit...

Thanks for sharing your grandma's secret for that refreshing drink! 😊 Personally, I haven't seen many Cornelian cherry trees around, so I decided to plant my own. I'm really looking forward to the day I can enjoy fresh Cornelian Cherries from my own tree! 🌱🍒

Is the white sap dangerous?
@wildfoodandhappysoulАй бұрын
Fig leaf sap can cause skin irritation for some people due to compounds called furanocoumarins, which are photosensitizing. When exposed to sunlight, they can lead to a condition called phytophotodermatitis, resulting in redness, blisters, or rash. If you come into contact with fig leaf sap, it's a good idea to wash the area thoroughly and avoid direct sunlight for a while. If you're handling fig leaves, especially in bright sunlight, wearing gloves or washing your hands afterward can help prevent irritation.

I was looking into this if somebody re-using the grains. You can use them for another liquid but it won't have so many benefits as the first one. You can put it into compost heap or I tried to add them into baking.

@@wildfoodandhappysoul I thought I would share this with you because its beyond truth and I like to share my knowledge like yourself. I turned vegan in June 2023. I was very rapidly put straight on my knowledge and terminology. Vegan is a word to weaponise a plant based diet. Its difficult but. Its definitely what I have been guided to believe. Here is my herbal daily tea. 🌱❤🥰 Handful cloves. Liquorice root. Blue lotus. 1/2 tea spoon Cyann pepper 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 5 thin slice ginger. Crushed turmeric root. 1/2 teaspoon Rice grain of shilijit. Tablespoon of sea moss gel Teaspoon of sea kelp And last but not least Oil. Coconut or hemp of olive. Nettles are wonderful but ideally you need muslin. Thank you for you reply. So wonderful that you are chosen and strong. As am I. I just struggle with how fast we are moving. Away.

I have a loved one who has severe copd and lung problems. I am curious about any natural nature cures that are possible to try . I dont trust the medical fields too much nowadays. They are too manipulated by the corrupt , greedy pharmaceutical companies. I would appreciate any advice you could offer. Plus , you have a sweet face and a adorable accent.
@wildfoodandhappysoul3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m truly sorry to hear about your loved one’s struggles with COPD and lung issues. While I understand your concerns about the pharmaceutical industry, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new treatments, especially for serious conditions like COPD. That being said, one natural remedy that is often discussed for respiratory issues is mullein. Mullein has been traditionally used to soothe the respiratory tract and is believed to help with conditions like colds and lung problems. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Mullein tea, made from the dried leaves and flowers, can help to clear mucus from the lungs and reduce inflammation. Some people also use mullein oil for ear infections or topically for skin conditions. However, it's essential to approach any treatment with caution and ideally under the guidance of a knowledgeable healthcare provider. Natural remedies can be a complementary approach, but they should not replace professional medical advice and treatment. Wishing your loved one all the best in their health journey. Take care!

Thank you so much for your response. She is receiving care from professionals. But after loosing so many that have supposedly been under professional care, I'm under the impression that they must be professional at something else, besides Healthcare. I'm tired of being helpless and just watching someone get worse ! It's a job to them . To me , it's someone I've always loved, and would do anything for .

Comfrey is very edible due to being cultivated by botanists to remove the toxins,the flowers should be blue or purple. You can eat it like cooked greens, or make tea. Also called knit bone, it helps you recover from breaks. Also great for pain, and very nutritious! One of my favorite herbs! Cats and dogs love it! My cat would eat her weight in them.

No worries. I won’t be feeding the seeds to my dog since they have traces of cyanide in them… unhealthy for dogs but good for people. He’s a picky eater too but so happy he loves the fruit. I might mix up the papaya as a smoothie and sneak in some greens as you do for yourself but also freeze it and offer it as a frozen treat. I mix pumpkin with shredded carrots along with bone broth as a frozen treat for him currently so now I have to try the papaya fruit to see how it goes. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
