This is just brilliant I am a dog walker and know the power of a dogs love that connection between canine and human is so awesome! This is a great thing your doing!

I'm a critical care nurse and I saw an article in Scrubs magazine that featured another ICU RN with her pet chihuahua that volunteers for the PAC at UCLA. I knew it was a sign because I had just gotten my son a chihuahua puppy for his birthday last November. He is the sweetest most playful dog ever and I can't wait to enroll him in an assisted therapy program! It will be an excellent opportunity for them to both my son and our dog!

This is what I would do if money was no object...

I wish i could do this with my dog. he'd be good at it.

If you want to learn more about how to engage your dog at your local hospice you could try visiting palliativepets. Its a non-commercial site that celebrates dogs in hospice care facilities.

This video is a really great video in showing all the different people that are impacted from animal therapy. This video was a great insight on the people that volunteer and the people that are in the animal therapy programs.

This is so beautiful. I miss my dog now--I forgot how happy he always made me feel on the worst of days by just wagging his tail at me.
