Straight up and no sugar coating the facts of life. Well said.

This is Milissa. Drwl or no drawl, I am pretty direct. :) Best way to be, I think. No misunderstandings.

Well, Alan. You did it to me again. Had to dink around and make two bobbins today.....and I had just swept out the shop last night! Turned out pretty nice for a newbie. many thanks to you and the wife. (and I seem to have noticed a rather "strange" Southern drawl...)

Thanks for the previous reply and have watched the vid once again for more bits of knowledge. I fabricated a flyer "jig" as shown near the end of the video. Crikey! It DOES work and that well. Perhaps the word is gobsmacked, eh? Still would like to see a small vid on it and your 3 point tool as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

There is a new flyer video as of today, Mr Bookout.

Really learned quite abit from this video and have saved it for ease of watching it again later. Really sorry to have the video end abruptly and would have liked to watched the jig at work on the lathe. Kudos to you two.

We are making changes now that should allow us to put quite a bit more here. Thanks for your interest: the more turners, the better the world!

I was going to order a replacement flyer and bobbins for a Country Craftsman I am refurbishing, then remembered you had started this series! I so greatly appreciate you both making this available to us. Here we go down the Rabbit Hole!

Great tutorial. Under rated video of a lost art. The first bobbin looks old enough to have been turned on a pole or treadle lathe before the craftsman died in a world war.

Thank you for the educational video. I wonder wat diameter the ring needs to be. I have a 3D printer so I can make a new ring when I need to change the needles to ribber needles. I bout my machine yesterday.

Harbor Freight has 2 or 3 models to choose from. The 'midi' at just under $300 is good (and you can also get a bed extender to turn longer spindles, legs etc.) Don't forget their discount coupon!

I am absolutely in love with this series! I am watching, taking notes, and still collecting tools for my apprentice workshop. P.s. luckily, I have a number of antique and vintage flyers which need to be replaced (lots to practice with). Thank you so very much 💗👍. P.s. will we be learning for 7 years? 🤓-Miki

Very informative! I've always been curious about how this was done. What if you don't have the flyer axel? Do you make them as well?
@bobbinboy75704 жыл бұрын
We do. That is the next set of videos, after a wrap-up one about bobbins and flyers.
