This final honestly wasn't as bad as Drakengard 1 Ending E. While the timings were more precise, the melody and beat made a lot more sense and was easier to follow, imo. There were a few mean delayed notes, but mostly it remained tame. It was extremely long, though.

This music makes me regret that I was too young to be allowed to enjoy these games when they were released. I hope a remaster or a port release is made.

The game from what I seen released in a bad state. So I don't think it was that enjoyable back then. Only because of those who put work in emulators gave us "remastered" version of it that feels nice to play. I hope they touch the games and give them more love, but they probably have way too much going on to release today in refreshed version. Drakengard most likely wouldn't happen if censorship not ignored it.

It's funny how the translation for the lyrics is all coherent while the Japanese sung in this is all broken and weird, I think the translation should have been broken too so it gives the song vibes xD like "inori no chi ga aru mama" = "there is still blood of prayers" or "there is continuous blood of prayers" instead of "I hear always in bloodied prayers"

There's this youtuber called marcomeatball who is a classically trained opera singer that reacts to game music from different series. It's really interesting because his main point in a lot of his videos is that a lot of game music, especially from the nier and final fantasy franchises, is musically rich and sort of a 21st century revival of classical music. He says that the way we experience game music is like how people in the classical era experienced opera music, and that both should be held in equally high regard. We connect this beautiful music to emotionally charged experiences, like someone attending an opera would connect the music to the story being told and the visuals. Above all, however, the music is so well constructed that it can communicate the themes of the work without any context from the games themselves, and when heard as part of the experience of playing a game can both elevate our emotions and allow us to learn about how to read and analyze classical music. As an artform in its infancy and with a wider cultural push that seeks to keep games being viewed as utilitarian products as opposed to a legitimate and serious form of art, I think that the broader culture has completely foregone appreciating and studying the music of these modern masters. It's really tragic that the majority of music lovers dismiss video game music. I sincerely believe that 100 years from now, when the cultural moment has come and gone, people will be discussing keichi okabe's music. In my opinion, he is the musical talent of the century.

I like marcomeatball. He is very open-minded and have listened and analyzed many video game music styles, from orchestra to metal to techno music. And above all, he has been sharing video game music to his friends and colleagues in the form of reactions, and this will help bring video game music into the sphere of academic study en masse. You say that video game music is still in its infancy, but to me, like metal, it has flourished in such a short period of time that it has reach the status of being regarded as art. It's just that people are too close-minded to appreciate it. But with marcomeatball continuing doing the Gods' work, video game music will be vindicated.

It's interesting to me, that most of the sisters sing each other's songs: Zero and Two sing their own, but Five sings One's song, Four sings Five's song, Three sings Four's song and after Two, One sings Three's song. I wonder if that was strictly a compositional choice, or if there's supposed to be meaning.

@somina1002 ай бұрын
It how each sister view the world at the end. The reason why Two doesn't change is because she has no growth throughout the whole game since she traumatized herself when she accidentally transformed the orphanage she was taking care off into monsters and had to kill them. I can't remember what 5 4 and 3 view was but I remember One was that she came to realize that she would eventually have to kill her sisters in the end to stop the flower. She was just accepting the inevitable but didn't agree with Zero way of doing it.
@Bourgit2 ай бұрын
@@somina100If I'm not mistaken One agrees with Zero it's just that she doesn't have faith that when all is said and done Zero will end her life so she creates her twin to make sure he carries on the mission if Zero were to fail.
@katiemckinney94562 ай бұрын
@@somina100 I thought it was Three who'd turned the orphans into monsters during one of her experiments? It wasn't an intentional act of malice against Two, but moreso that Three's unlucky victims happened to be people who Two loved and cared about.
@somina1002 ай бұрын
@katiemckinney9456 no, it was Two and Cent. The novela she saids she didn't mean to turn them into monsters, that her song was harmless and would make all the children healthy. Two was premature in her powers, so she didn't know how to control it. Thats why Cent blames himself the most because he gave her the ideal to do it, not knowing how harmful her song was.
