The pathetic and small-minded trolls who take issue with Mr Franke's attire and bling had better steer well clear of Cameron Carpenter!

I grew up listening to the Virgil Fox ‘Encores’ recording of this beautiful piece which is played at a fairly fast gallop. Watching this gentleman play the piece I now realize I was missing most of what the right hand is playing because of the pace taken. Don’t get me wrong I still love the Virgil Fox recording but I’m hearing more of what I’m supposed to hear when it’s played at a slightly slower speed. This performance is beautiful.

Who is the organist?

You have just heard a wonderful organist playing a composition by her brother, who was also a wonderful organist and who died as a brave soldier fighting for France in World War II.

Impressive. My favorite rendition of this classic. It is played perfectly. Great talent!!

For some reason, my ears can process the individual notes better when I can actually see them being played at the same time. One of the better recordings of this for me, for that reason. The notes aren't a melded together mess like some others. Nicely done.

I love this piece. The deeper notes vibrate your whole core - we had it at our wedding (did struggle to find someone to play it though)
Perfect tempo, as well. I was so taken in by the perfection of all of this, that I forgot to mention that the tempo was spot on. Perfect performance!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Assuming you, the poster, is Mr. Franke - can you give some insight on the wrists for this piece? I would imagine using a "bounce-back" technique is what is needed here (taking advantage of gravity to provide some of the weight without tensing the forearm)

Someone kindly name the tune being played at the outgo - right after the toccata

The 'Rule Britannia' section on the swell and the continuance of the hornpipe on the great was an outstanding demonstration of technical skill! The video's description of it being tongue-in-cheek was beyond an apt one. This video brought a smile to my face for sure.

Simply, great fun...the opening, not doubt inspired by the orchestral performances of the hornpipe at 'The Last Night of the Proms' at the Royal Albert Hall, where concert-goers are known to add their 'own' contributions. As the for the intermingling of other pieces, well pure genius!
