I'm not a big electric / diesel train fan, but i miss these trains. Their sound, their interior etc i remember as a kid (not to long ago) coming back from london in the dark, head out the window, sparks from other trains. Modern trains dont quite 'have it' I also blame health and safety for not allowing slam doors now, because some silly person MIGHT fall out.

Aah, at 21 now, I grew up with these. If I said I didnt miss them I'd be lying. Not quite as romantic as the old days of steam, but they were an icon of my childhood train journeys out of Aldershot/Guildford up to Waterloo

i am going to miss the slam doors quite abit i do love the class 444 and the 450, classic locomotive and great for a afternoon on the station with a book on bridges

bring back the slam door trains!!!!! They were built of character! train journey's are so boring now! cant believe its 2 years since they went! great trains. miss them alot!

yes millbrook good place for filming or taking photos, also if you walk over the footbridge, there's a footpath leading to central station that goes along the side of the track, with only a fence between you and trains racing past

Excellent production - there is always plenty of variety here and a mixture of operating companies - if you are filming again, you may like to try Millbrook - the wide footbridge there is a good photo location!

Agreed. There's always a variety of traffic around here, but it is duller without the departed Pigs.
