I actually got my degree in archaeology a year after this video! I am now in my masters with a focus in plains archaeology (hunter gatherers/bison/stone tools) and the site im researching is actually the site in the video i dug at for field school! It all came full circle lol

@@Bayfaceee Thank you for your super quick answer!!! Do you think that if you didn’t had a degree in archeology you could still end up where you are now? I mean is an archeology degree essential? And also, how do you find work? (Sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my language)

Michelle Parker to take my masters in archaeology I needed a bachelor degree in archaeology so I wouldn’t be able to do the research I am today without it! You could defiantly do field schools or excavations without a degree, for instance where I live a archaeology society usually puts on “public digs” during the summer to help volunteer and learn to dig so if your interested in that I’d check around where you live because a lot of public digs happen (but with covid could not be right now lol). For career in archaeology you can do contract work with the government or do what’s called “CRM” and basically you help assist pipeline companies or other types that dig big old holes and you make sure they aren’t digging through a site! And lastly there is academic and going for your PHD and become a professor! Hope that answers your questions ☺️

To my knowledge I dont think any have been found, but the site is located in a heritage park where people have been visiting since 1996 so it could be possible within the SOD layer. This is actually my master thesis site now and hopefully in the fall the uni opens back up so I can start going into the lab and looking at the artifacts that have been excavated over the years! So if I find any ooparts, may just be from people visiting over the years, it would defiantly depend on what I find in the boxes lol! Also some post contact artifacts have been found at others sites nearby and I think one or two from this site so defiantly will be looking through it all and go from there depending what I find!
