There are lots of places on the east coast where the sea is right there. I have to wipe sea salt from my windows, I'm that close. We get more storms now, because of climate change. When there's a hurricane in Florida, we get the tailend of it a week or so later.

There is a large population of people from Brazil living in Galway. They like having fun, they like music and dancing, so they fit in easily. There's a band that is half Irish, half Brazilian. There's even a factory owned by Brazilians. Galway is seen as being a really cool place to live. These days, few people born Catholic take part in the religion.

greyhound was better before they were acquired by Flixbus. Since then, Flixbus has closed down a lot of stations. as far as the rest stops concerned. According to federal law, all drivers not just Greyhound has to take at least 30 minute break within an 8r period. The driver can break it up however they please. If that was me, trust me the first break would've been 15 and the second would've been 30. Thats mandated to reduce driver fatigue of course.

Boston to Orlando 35 years ago. I was young, skinny and in great shape. It was still utter misery. 30 hours I think. In 2009 I did it in an Amtrak sleeper and was great but 10 times the money. Well worth it.

Sister and I Flew from LAX to DUB. I will say the seats in economy I will never do again! So small, her and I shoulder to shoulder. Seat seat cushion was like sitting on a wooden park bench. On the way back we got business seats. The Crew was excellent, I Spent more time OUT of the seat chatting and getting to know some places to visit. As for Ireland, I miss it all. Only been back one day. Was there 3 weeks, still not enough time to see all. I will be back! :)

This flight from lhr to Dublin to sfo is £1000 less for a family of 4 compared to Virgin and BA. Is the service any difference between these? Or am I better off saving the £1000 and having the ‘inconvenience’ of a layover for 3 hours? Thanks
@landonkissell14 күн бұрын
especially since the flight from LHR to DUB is so short I would not worry about the inconvenience. For saving £1000 it is definitely worth it! And I have flown Virgin transatlantic before and they were great. Never flew British Airways though. But Aer Lingus was just as good as Virgin so I would take the one with a layover

I prefer Peter Pan bus lines whenever possible, but I’d always pack at least noise canceling headphones, an eye mask and at least a jacket to put over me if not a blanket. If you get a short extension cable with a flat swivel connector and a ground plug, it makes connecting your charger into loose bus/plane outlets a lot easier

During my adult life I have ridden a good number of East Coast overnight buses, particularly between NY & New England, along with NY-Pittsburgh and NY-Buffalo. Back in the day, it was a very good option to save on hotel costs, particularly when hotels would price gouge during special events like college tournaments. Not sure now with the influx of throwaway souls, the tremendous decline of Greyhound at high prices and the dissolution of Coach USA/Megabus and Continental Trailways. Improving Amtrak has made it a better fit, even in Coach.

I’d also like to add that there is not a Greek side and Turkish side. There’s the Cyprus and it’s divided into free territory and occupied. The protest happens every year on the 15/11 because on that day Turkey declared the occupied side its own state. The protest you saw condemns the pseudostate. The protest calls for liberation of the island the withdrawal of the Turkish settlers and the Turkish military forces on the island.
@landonkissellАй бұрын
Do you think we ever see unification once again?
@julianx.pecciniАй бұрын
We hold Greek flags to remind people that Greece and orthodoxy will always be a part of the island. There is absolutely no such thing as “TRNC” it’s a pseudo state that no country apart from Turkey recognizes. We don’t hold any flags of the Cypriot government because they simply don’t represent the island and it’s Greek cultural heritage and furthermore it doesn’t represent the church which is what has kept our identity true after centuries of different conquerors.
@landonkissellАй бұрын
Many argue that flying the greek flags in these types of protests just creates more divisions and only harms the hope of unification because you are not using the cypriot flag. Do you have a view on what those people say?
@axr4832Ай бұрын
This is great. People need to wake up. The Turks do NOT belong on our island they ILLEGALLY occupy OUR land and people think it’s OK?? Stand up people 🇬🇷✊🏼
