Great video! Thanks! Would this be effective with an acoustic StompBox like the Logjam Prolog? I have one and so far, it has been great with an EQ. However, being an acoustic instrument, there are sometimes where I stomp too hard. So, I was thinking that a compressor could work to attenuate my hard stomps ahah. Did someone try to pair a stompbox with a compressor pedal?

Hello Andrei, nice demo and wonder if you still own this pedal. Thinking of buying one myself at €49 🤠

Yeah, it is nice indeed, and surprisingly cheap for what it can do! I don't have mine anymore, as I've recently switched to using Helix Effects for all modulation and time-based effects!

Makes it sound more professional and consistent but what i would say the attack at the max is very aggressive what i like is the compressor set to sound more dynamic but stil know its there
@AndreiSora
@AndreiSora 2 ай бұрын
Yeah. I think it's great that it can be as aggressive but it would've been ideal to have the option of blending the dry signal in.

They’re good value for the money. My only gripe is that, instead of the power socket being at the back end, it’s on the side, where it interferes with the pedal couplers .
@AndreiSora
@AndreiSora 4 ай бұрын
True - not sure why they did this, given that they managed to copy everything else from the BOSS pedal. Maybe they needed something to be slightly different for it to legally be classed as a 'different product', lol.

No pedals - I'm going straight into the tube amp (the green thing, middle right, in the background) and then I add a bit of delay in my DAW with Valhalla Delay. That's it!

I just got RX 10 Elements and am using it with Pro Tools Intro. When I use the Repair Assistant on the chosen track I can hear the difference... but how do I know the 'repairs' are transferring to the mp3 when I bounce mix it? Thanks.
@AndreiSora
@AndreiSora 4 ай бұрын
I'm not familiar with ProTools, so can't advise, sadly! On Reaper you can just apply the tracks directly to the audio item, render in place, or freeze. I'd get in touch with iZotope support - they're really friendly and helpful!

I have a lot of synths in nexus 3 that are sound terrible in mono. Usually when I turn lower one side or turn it off it sounds fine. Is there a way to to this automatically ? For example the sound on the right turning off / playing quiter of only the highs for when played on a mono speaker , but not when played through a stereo speaker ?
@AndreiSora
@AndreiSora 5 ай бұрын
Generally, synths achieve their widening through delay and/or small pitch shifting, so you could use something like Voxengo's MSED or PHA-979 to counteract this. You can create a preset and whenever you initiate the synth add these plugins so they bring everything closer to mono. Alternatively, Waves S1 also has features you might find useful.

@AndreiSora People always blame it on "the computer" and not the programmer who made the software. That VST was poorly developed. When VST's really started hitting the market back in the mid 90's, nearly half of them were poorly constructed. I will NOT blame my computer for this one because iv'e ran super heavier software than this and don't have problems. Iv'e noticed on the review on their site that 90% of the people having this problem are Windows user's. Not one complaint on the site from Mac user's. So I think the mistake was a developer gearing the programming towards Mac user's and didn't put much thought into the Windows side of things.
@AndreiSora

Perhaps - but, that being said, I'm a Windows user.@@shortythepresident3913

@AndreiSora Then I don't know. I just stopped using it and found 2 others that I use with no issues. But at the end of the day, my main daw is Akai MPC and I'm just waiting for the Akai stems to drop soon and I won't touch any of this stuff ever again.
@AndreiSora
@AndreiSora 5 ай бұрын
Fair enough. This technology is becoming more and more commonplace, so I assume most VST companies will have some variations of it and the CPU usage will be lower and lower. @@shortythepresident3913

I've had one for years, and they're really useful actually! Initially I used it more like a boost, by turning up the Level and then playing with Attack and Sustain, aiming for a compression like you'd get from a (clean-ish) tube amp. Worked really well on singlecoil pickups! These days I'm using it to balance the output on 2 guitars: one having medium output passive pickups, the other is an electric 12string with EMGs. Obviously the EMGs are much hotter, so thát signal goes through the CS400 to tame it a bit as well as leveling out the peaks (a 12 string has a LOT of harmonics & very susceptible to picking variations...). And after all those years of rehearsals and gigs it still works absolutely fine 😎👍

Well it's not that big of a mystery if you know Josh Homme produced the album. Homme uses the Hungarian minor scale extensively in his songs for QOTSA. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKqlgYGpapKZm9Usi=evlhy--fCR8pxcOi

Regardless of what each of those parameters were intended for, people will use it in a plethora of ways - some of them might even strum chords. So I think there's value in hearing what the pedal can do on anything you send through it. :)
